Great! I've not missed any of the Microsoft Updates on my XP computer and have no such problems.

Apparently I was not the only one to be "attacked" by those updates. My Son in Law looks after several computers for others and came up against this corruption thing (following the updates) on more than one of them, too  Still, I'm just very happy to have my machines up and running well again
