Since I'm having more than my share of problems figuring out how to do things in this game, I'm wondering if I should go ahead and buy the official walkthrough. Is it any more comprehensive than the Gameboomers walkthrough? I just got started on the game and I'm already frustrated with the element of having to perform certain mouse movements in a certain manner or order, such as in the bone puzzle. I have the tape recorder, but nothing happens when I right click on it. Is there a tape somewhere that I've not yet found? And from comments I've read on other forums, how to "interpret" the information on the tape recorder isn't such an easy task either. I'm ready to chalk this game up as a loss. I've never had so much trouble with a game. For instance, I needed the walkthrough for most of "Rhiannon"; but at least the walkthrough instructions were clear enough to keep me moving.

I haven't seen the official walkthrough, so I can't tell you. But we're always here to offer help if you need it - in addition to MaG's wonderful walkthrough. laugh

Yes, you'll need to find the tape to play on the tape recorder. Have you explored the woods and the tower yet?

Make sure you have collected 5 extra bones in addition to the 10 already in the can, before attempting the bone puzzle - otherwise it won't work.

Rushes: Thank you. I had all the bones. I was afraid that the bones clue would be another random number. I found the tape, but didn't find it very helpful. The Gameboomers walkthrough got me past this and I'm moving along quite well now. Without Gameboomers I would have given up on this game already. Thanks again for your help.

I too very greatly appreciate Mag's walkthroughs and other Gameboomers also....but to give up on this game? NEVER! Having played Dark Fall The Journal makes this game a MUST to play and enjoy to the finish - it is simply delicious!
I do have a comment about room 2E and the constellations (in 1947), the only constellation I could NOT find on the wall charts or in Andrew's book was Fervian - have not played with the telescope yet but if I run in to a problem (I don't expect to since I have the excellent images in Mag's w/t) I will be back here for help and/or advice. Wish me luck. Off to lunch now for hubby's 83rd birthday
Love, Betty Lou

Betty Lou,
birthday to Hubby!
Check the book cover - that is Ferican. It is stated in the inside cover page. Have fun.

I've played both of the previous Dark Fall games and find this one much more difficult. And I chose the "Easy" option. Wonder how much more difficult the "Hard" option is. "Lost Souls" just doesn't seem as intuitive. I keep getting to points where all I can think of to do is wander about. I hate it when I have to refer to a walkthrough in order to move forward in the game. But I've been away from adventure games for a while. Maybe playing HOG's and IHOG's has reprogrammed my brain. crazy Will likely be visiting Gameboomers more than usual in the near term. BTW, Happy B'Day to Mr. Betty Lou. smile

Thanks to the GB walkthrough, I'm finally enjoying this game. Even with frequent checks of the walkthrough to keep me moving, it's still a great game and interesting story. Glad for the help or I would have given up on this one.

Dear Mag, thanks for your answer; I have tried and tried, wandered around everywhere, and cannot get the guestbook to be clickable, which is needed in order to get Antonys room key. Please could you send me a save game?

I'm trying to open the combo lock to the Station Master's door at the train station in Darkfall Lost Souls. I looked at all three clip boards and found the three digit number at the left top of the page. One clip board had D05, the other said D01 and the third said D03. Since I need a three digit number, I figured it was 513. Then I got the other number for the station master which was 21974 also on the clipboards. I have tried 51321974 and also 21974513 on the combo but to no avail. I am pushing enter after each number. Am I interpreting something wrong? I have tried everything and I can't seem to open that door. Sadly, since I can't go any further without that, I may have to quit the game without finishing it.

The DO numbers should be the first 3 digits you enter.
Double check the sequence-order of the 5 - 1 - 3. Since the other 2 numbers are blot out - it might be off.

The other consideration is the nearness of the reset button with the enter button. It might also be pressed while entering the code. luck on the replay.

Hi regadget, welcome to GameBoomers.

If the game is constantly freezing or crashing you might be better off posting at our Glitches forum for advice.

Otherwise, you can download a saved game pack HERE, and hopefully one of them will be roughly where you need to be. You need to be a member of the site to download the file, but membership is free and quick and safe. luck
