Hi all and hope someone can help. I joined, two days ago, a site about sim 2 games and forums. The site is Insimenator.org. I went to log on about an hour ago and got an error message. "Sorry guest,you are banned from using this forum! For being spambots. Isn't that reason enough?" I googled spambots and can see that its not a good thing but, how in the world could I be seen as one? I'm afraid to log on to other sites. I'm half sick and shacking here. Hi MaG and I read your PM. What is an IP? The person in your post is not me. A few years ago or so I got several emails from somebody with my email address. Wondered then how that could happen. Re, first off, please don't worry. I've had it happen to me also, but with a different forum. In my case, the forum wouldn't even allow me to register with them. Their authentication software confused my e-mail address or my IP with that of a spammer, apparently. I simply e-mailed the website directly, told them of my problem, and they cleared me straightaway, with an apology. I was then able to sign up to the forum and start posting. This happens from time to time and is quickly sorted if the website has good Admin.

Hi Rushes and Mag I got your email. I'm a bit calmer now. I went to AOL and set up a second email address so I can log on with it to get online too. Maybe no spamer will have used this address. I have no Idea how to get that websites email address to tell them of my situation. I'd like to find a phone number for AOL. I'd like to directly ask them how they could have let two people have the same address. Well I'm signing off for night. I've had my fill of internet for the day. Thank you again,Regi

Update - June 06, 2011: To stem the flow of spambots that have been invading the site lately, all new registrations are subject to manual activation. We're also having issues with the forum not being able to send out any email, so check back after a bit to see if your account has been activated.

We apologize for this inconvenience, and with any luck, this should only be a temporary measure.

Also in one of the forums, another member had to reregister. Maybe that is the way to get back in the forum.

Morning all. Mag, I did the manual registration on Wed. did two posts and all was fine. My account was activated. I even tried again yesterday with a new email address and it was a no go. Maybe because I still had a cookie from their site in my temp. files. The site must have recognized my computer. I am just not allowed to enter their site, period. Appreciate the help, Regi

Re, they may have a problem with AOL. Listserv, which hosts one of my forums, has gotten so fed up with AOL for various reasons that members who use it often find themselves kicked off and have to get an email program from somewhere else to participate in the list again. What about signing up with Gmail and using that email addy to sign up with this site?

Hi all and traveler what is gmail? I probably could get an email address with my comcast internet provider. Id have to go figure it out. I've had the same address with aol sinse '93 or'94. It's a shame about and for the aol users. I also find it heartbreaking that the true spamers and hackers have created a sad internet condition. Thanks to all, Regi
