Use the stethoscope taken from mom's room at the hospital on the safe.

Left click to turn the dial counterclockwise. Turn until a click is heard.

Right click to turn the dial clockwise. Turn until a click is heard.

Do this until Darren says that sounds good and pulls out of close up.

I am using the stethoscope but don't hear the click. thats my problem.
It is the problem I always have, can't set volume any higher, some say thets a problem with a laptop.
Will keep trying. If I can get the first number by luck, I think i can go on.

thanks

Turn the dial to: 90, 50, 70, 20, 20.
Yes - try l and R and l and R - as long as it points to those number. luck

I am at or near end of game and confused ...again.
I am at part where there are the 8 slabs to stand on to open the door on the right.
I have the knife and done everything I should do.
So, I am now in place with all the ropes and have to get them to work.
I have WT with picture of how bars are supposed to be set. But I can't figure out this part. Is this for the first rope to be pulled , third from right , on right side?
I have done that dozen times and nothing happens. I know I am doing something wrong, but don't know what.
And I can't make out symbols on poles, if that's what I have to do. Eyesight not that good anymore!

I don't know if you can explain any more or will you just send me a saved game just after this part is done.
I don't want to miss ending so hope I can finish on my own. Have enjoyed this game very much and want to see ending.

Hi misskedi,

First, double check that you've set the bars correctly.

Are you using the *knife* on the third rope from the right? Just clicking on it won't work.

Note where the rope is in relation to the mechanism on the wall at right, so you're looking in the right place.

Guess I don't understand how to set the bars.
Or what you mean by ....don't just click on knife....I can't do anything else. Somewhere I read that you have to have cursor by rope you want to set, but it won't stay there.
Guess I will have to give up on game, some say the ending isn't that exciting anyway
Thanks for trying anyway, this one has me very confused, getting too old for these games I guess.

No, I meant, not to just left-click on the rope with an empty cursor. In your post you referred to "pulling" the rope, which suggested to me that you were just clicking on it. Whereas you need to pick the knife up out of inventory and click that onto the rope.

I don't have any saves for this game and haven't been able to source any, but if we wait hopefully MaG or a member will have one at the point you need.

I select knife in inventory , and then click it on the rope. Also found it is rusty, but guess that don't help.

I maybe will keep trying and wait and see if anyone can help. Meanwhile will try another game.Got nothing else to do !!

My saves are not labeled but I can send you a group and you can check if one of them will work for you.

Even if you can't see the symbols between the bars (selected ones) - count off how far they are from either the center or the end. Check where it is positioned. Set it that way - also click the switch at center to point either right or left.
Copy the solution in the walkthrough. luck
