I have an older vista pc that is behaving quite strange.
It is starting automatically every time I plug the cord into the electricity outlet. Is it a way to stop this behavour, or if not, will it hurt the pc to start like this every time?

Caroline.

I haven't lost it, I just can't find it....

When that happened to me recently, I had the PSU (power supply unit) replaced, which solved that problem.

You might want to enter the BIOS setup and look at the power settings. Most offer an option to stay off after a power failure. If it's been set to power on it will start as soon as you plug it in.

Different PC's have seperate key combinations to enter the BIOS, so you have to reference your documentation to find the correct one.

Entering BIOS worked, I found the setting. Now it stays off until I push the power button smile
