Hi:
Really enjoying this game, but I've run into a bit of a snag.
Looking at MaG's great w/t, I am at the very end of Chapter 3 where I just phoned Inspector Paiser & learned of the fused gas pedal in the accident.
The next paragraph in w/t says "The next night's experiment" etc. etc. I'm assuming there is suppose to be a cut-scene here, but nothing happens. Went to the private lab & thought I was suppose to transport him or something, but nothing happens.
Could you please help me to proceed to see what happens at the swimming pool cut-scene.
As always, thank you so.

El

That paragraph - next night's experiment - describes a cutscene.

Check your progress of the score or gameplay - it can be seen by using the P key or clicking on the Progress icon (with 3 lines on it) on the cards-mask icon at top left of the screen (left of inventory).

See which ones are not 100% yet. You have not finished one of the sub chapters in that chapter.

Also check the map - there will be some locations that are not grayed out yet - that means there are things to be done there. luck

Hi again MaG:
I opened the game, went to the map, it shows Dread Hill House grey, all othere things on map are gone. Went to Progress & it shows 97% finished. My problem is, I do not know what else to do, reread all on Chapter 3 that has to do with the house, cannot find anything that I may have missed & it has me totally frustrated.
Could you please send me a Save for the end of Chapter 3? I sure hope you have a Save for that part. Again, thanks in advance.

El

Hi El,

There are saves for each chapter of the game HERE.

The saves are zipped, so you will need to extract them before using them. Save the zipped file to desktop, then right-click on the file and select Extract Files.

Check your Documents folder to see if the save folder is there, or otherwise run a file search.

If the files are numbered sequentially then you'll need to renumber the saves which you downloaded to your desktop, so that they follow on from the last numbered save of your own.

Move the renumbered saves into your save folder, exit all folders, start up the game as usual, and choose the save which you wish to load & play.

Having a bit of a problem with this.
Clicked on Grey Matter site like you specified, clicked on Day 3 (which is Chapter 3), ran it, clicked on to Extract File & the green bar goes only half way across saying it's extracting it.
My last save was .007 so how do I get to change the number?
I opened up the Day 3 Folder and it says there are 4 saves, 000, 00, 00, & 00. This confuses me.
Can you help me further? I'd sure appreciate it!

Did you "Save As" the file for Day 3 to your desktop? Retry the process in case it didn't work the first time.

Double-click on the icon on your desktop and it should open to show a sub-folder. Double click on that sub-folder and you'll see four numbered saves inside. You can then drag the individual files out onto your desktop and renumber them there, before placing them in your game folder along with all your other saves.

Got a bit confused, the word "rename" had me confused. Did not realize until a lightbulb went off in my head, that it also meant "renumber" so I did & when I opened the last of Grey Mists 3 saves, I open it & see that it only shows 96% progress as to my 97%.
So, I guess I'll have to go thru the whole house & see if there is anything else I can do, unless you have another suggestion for me.

Concentrate the replay on the subchapter that is not 100%. It does take a lot of talking and clicking to find what is missed. luck

Hi MaG:
Please forgive me, but I do not understand what you mean by:

Concentrate the replay on the subchapter that is not 100%.

Please explain what this means. Being that th house is the only thing left on the map, I guess I'll have to go thru each room & click on each thing that looks like it may be of importance!
Does that what you mean?

Thanks!

Hi El,

This is what MaG posted a few posts back on this thread:

Check your progress of the score or gameplay - it can be seen by using the P key or clicking on the Progress icon (with 3 lines on it) on the cards-mask icon at top left of the screen (left of inventory).

See which ones are not 100% yet. You have not finished one of the sub chapters in that chapter.

So whatever task is not at 100%, check that task against that specific section in the walkthrough, and go over all the steps.

luck

Aha, never really paid attention to the titles of each sub chapter & see that one, A Spectural Presence is not fully done, 3% more to go.
I'll go thur that section & look see.
Thank you Rushes for explaining it to me, I truly appreciate it!

For A Spectral Presence, try closely examining the mirror in David's bedroom. That's been the issue for a few people.

Keep us posted!

Yes, yes, examined the mirror (never did before) & read all the video logs on his computer, saw the cutscenes & that seemed to do the trick!
Again, thanks for the advice, I can no go merrily along with the game!
Have a great weekend.

Hi:
Have not played this in awhile & am stuck, as usual, at the end.
I cannot get thru all the halls of cards, went into the game. Reading back I got confused even though I managed to get saves in the game for the end of Chapter 3 back last month.
I went to Chapter 8 saves, put last 2 of the 4 saves into my Desktop but I don't know how to un-zip them. I've tried right click or double click, but don't get a "save as" like you specified in directions for Capter 3.
Also you said something about "running it" - I don't comprehend. Also I have used up all my saves & have been overwriting some of them, so I I'm able with your help, to get the save or two into my folder, I do not know which numbers to use?
Please help me, I'm so close to finishing!
Thanks in advance.

When you right-click on the zipped file, do you see an "Extract files" command on the dropdown menu that appears? If so, click on that.

As for numbering the saves, try removing the last numbered set that you currently have out of the folder altogether (put them somewhere safe), and then use that number slot for your new save.

I think I neglected to click on the little box on the Gray Matter saves. When I did, I was able to unzip the save that got me to where she went thru all the halls of which totally frustrated me, leading me to have to put the next to last save into my game. I have now finished it & thoroughly enjoyed it!
