I am completely stuck in this game. I have used the Quickie and answered all the questions until I got the correct response. I picked up the lamp from the left slot and used it on the middle shelf. I have three lamps lit when I press to raise the shelf but these are at the top and when I press take Fay says she cannot reach. Can you help or send me a saved game?

Let's review:

Pick up the lamp from the floor (in red circle) left of the terminal at right.
Go left to the terminal.
Raise the middle terminal only (the one in front should be lowered to access the middle terminal.

Keep us posted.

Tried what you suggested but nothing happens. When I click the lamp on the second from bottom row it lights up on the socket at the front of the terminal. I cannot find the data crystal either. I fear I might have missed something as I have re started the game at an earlier point three times with the same result

Have you read the copy from the opened safe? That tells you where the data crystal is located.

Be sure that the middle terminal is up.

Correction: place the lamp at right end of the row second from bottom.
Then take the data crystal from the intersection of the 2 lamps.

How can I find the copy from the safe? Does the data crystal go into the shelf automatically or do I have to put it there

I'm sorry - I did not correctly explained.
That clue should have been stated by Quickie.

You might try replaying by doing the Quickie until it tells you that the safe is now opened and that there is a copy in the safe. luck

Still no luck. You asked if I had read the copy in the safe. What copy is this? I have questioned Quickie three or four times and been told the safe is now opened but I cannot progress any further. Is there a save for this game. I am wondering if there is a glitch in the game.

I am on another computer and checked for saves or the game several times. I don't have saves on this computer.

I don't know if you have a glitch. Although this game hangs up on me a bit.

Maybe someone can help us with a saved game.

Hi MaG--Thanks for the info on the shelves. However, I now have a new problem--I cannot get into the inventory--it just disappeared. I changed my mouse and it will not let me in after I press the right side of the mouse.
Also, Quickie tells me the safe is open--I still can't find the safe.

The safe is the terminals that you need to place the lamp.

Thanks to all concerned for the save for the book of unwritten tales. I still can't find a save to get me past the Quickie and the safe in A New Beginning. Does one exist now?

Regards

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

I haven't been able to find any, let's wait and see if anyone else here has one to send you.
