Has no one but me attempted ths game but me? Full of pixel hunting, glitches an crashes to the desk top with the error msg [b]"cougar (with an a) V41.1" has stopped running and Microsoft will attempt to find a solution. Yeah, right. No solution from MS for over a few weeks. Using correct resolution and more power and ram then this game requires at best.
Graphics are greatn sound could use a little help and story line is better than average. Help. I am in the middle of the game, I think and would like to finish it.

I don't know of a fix for this game, but you're not alone in having problems with it. The

also had crashes with it and had to use other peoples' saved games to finish it. If the usual fixes like running in compatibility mode and disabling antivirus don't work, you may have to resort to a saved game.

I have been having these same error messages. I am refering to the cougar Engine V4.1 runtime has stopped folling a black screen and getting kicked out to the desktop. It seem tech support is a joke. I am so tired of buying games that continue to crash. I had a simular problem with The Longest Journey. I experanced many kick out in the game 15 Days and am presently on the island and going into the cell blocks when it kick me out. Apparently thats as far as I am going to get.

There is a way around the crash in the cell area, if you press the ESC key just before the cut scene begins. See if that works.

The same trick works with The Longest Journey also, which I replayed recently on Win 7 and which also had problems with crashing just prior to a cut scene.

Don't get too discouraged. I think your video card's 3D capability is too new for a 12-year old game like The Longest Journey to recognize. As for 15 Days, it's unstable on many systems, worse than most games. I think the company that was developing it went out of business or got bought out or something and the game was rushed out the door before it was properly tested. Too bad because their earlier games did not have these problem with instability.

Hopefully what Rushes suggests will get you past this spot.

I had my discs handy so I reinstalled TLJ on my Windows 7 rig. After setting the program compatibility mode to XP SP3 it played just fine.
