Chuck, I have to leave for awhile, but will check back in when I get home. I have played the game - be sure to check that walkthrough MaG suggested. I have a feeling you've missed doing something.

I checked and I don't have a save at that point. Did you check that walkthrough MaG linked you to? If I remember correctly, I finally had to resort to a walkthrough to figure out what I needed to do. You have to use the ladder to bend or destroy the pipe so you can get it down, but I don't remember exactly how to do it. Check that walkthrough.

Chuck,
Try grabbing some of the rocks laying around the floor of that chamber, throwing them onto the top of the round tower like thing, going up the ladder, and throwing the rocks up onto the bridge while you're standing on top of the tower. It takes quite a few good throws but you should be able to release the bridge that way.
Alternatively, get on the opposite bridge from the jammed one, all the way back to the door, run as fast as you can and jump. You will take some damage but hopefully not much and you should have some laudanum to heal Daniel with.
Hope you get that bridge down.
Best, Leigh-Anne

Chuck,
I have all my saves, however the game auto saves and no name as Cistern appears. What are the names of your last games saved? Some of the names repeat several times.

Have you tried either of the solutions in the walkthrough for unjamming the bridge?

Neither of the solutions in the walkthrough mentions jumping - which won't work. I remember trying it myself though! Solution 1: Since something is jamming the bridge, we'll need to hit it with something hard to unjam it. Go to the end of the platform and climb down the stairs. Find a rock or something on the ground, and throw it up back to the higher platform. Climb the ladder and find the rock that you just threw. Now grab the rock and aim for the circular thing where the chains are attached on the bridge. This should cause it to unjam and the bridge will finally be lowered. Solution 2: This solution will get you really hurt and is NOT recommended. Still, if you're the pretty adventurous type, go ahead and try this solution. Just be warned that you'll get really hurt!
Notice that the bridge on the left is fully working, while the one on the right is jammed? Pull the lever of the working bridge up, then run to the still lowered bridge on the left. You'll have a few seconds to make it there.
As you get on the bridge, it will start going up! Wait for it to stop and you'll notice that you're on a higher place than the jammed bridge! Now run and jump onto the jammed bridge! Your weight will cause the bridge to unjam, at the expense of your health! This all assumes we're talking about the same point in the walkthrough.

Yup, try the rocks - that's the first solution in the walkthrough. That's how I finally got it.

Chuck, for some reason I have nothing called Cistern, , many NAVE, 2 Inner Sactum and others.
I cannot check them because my game gets stuck.

I believe that the game only has a limited amount of checkpoints and starts reusing them at some point around the Chancel. So for those of us who've completed the game that means we have no save games for the first half of it. Throw the rocks Chuck! Best, Leigh-Anne

Chuck, I'm wondering if you've missed doing something before this point. Did the bridge try to come down and then get jammed?
