I'm having the same problem! UGH!! I think my game crashed about five times. Now that I'm at the Cells, as soon as I hear the cry for help, my game crashes. Can someone send me a saved game, too?

As for the crash during use of flashlight, I had Catherine walk around in the dark room for about two or three steps before she used the flashlight. I hope that helps somebody.

Hi MissSheila, you might be able to avoid the crash at the cells if you press ESC before the cut scene kicks in - its worked for a few players including me!

OMG! IT WORKED!!! Thank you so much, Chrissie!! I didn't think I would be able to finish this game!! I'd come so close, ... thank you again. Hopefully I won't have anymore problems since I'm so close to the end.

I spoke too soon now there is the same
crash but now its for the James Henston
information and the Esc is not working.
Is there a saved game for that part of the game.

I did get to 2nd July 2009,I'm in van and I can't
drive out he says I have other thing to do .

Just learned myself since I was having the same runtime errors as well. Got a tip from Chrissie and it worked for me.

If you experancing the black screen and a kickout back to the desktop followed by a runtime error cougar message try this.

Just prior to the point where you get kicked out of the game hit your escape key it should jump you past the kick out point, You may have to try several close points prior to the kickout but it works.

just use your escape key after you unlock the door into the cell area and it will jump you into the cell block area past the cougar runtime error
