Replaying Black Mirror and once again I am reminded that Samuel Gordon seems to have no parents. What the heck happened to them? William and Victoria are his gradparents and Robert is his uncle. Why are his parents never mentioned? Not even by name, if I recall correctly. Maybe that could be a direction for Black Mirror 4.....

It's been so long since I played, my memory is blank right now. Someone who has played more recently or has a bettter memory than I will hopefully be by soon.

Gee, I didn't know that. As for his parents, maybe they were wiped out along with all traces/records/evidence of them a few minutes/hours after Sam was born and Bill and Victoria took over, raised him, and no one wants to mention them for fear of breaking his heart/upsetting the Gordon family?

How about this: immediately after Samuel's birth, a horrible contagious disease spread throughout the hospital, caused by the carelessness of one of the hospital's lab assistants. Miraculously, infant Samuel was the only one to survive it. He was kept alive by a female rat who mistook him for her own child, and he was eventually rescued by the town's sheriff wearing a Hazmat suit. They then buried the hospital, including its records, under a mountain of sand to prevent the spread of the disease.

Sounds like a cue for a new members adventure game thread like we had a few years ago Becky! No doubt it would complete muller the Black Mirror story!

I think I remember something about his parents being killed in a car accident, but I may be thinking of another game.

Becky's idea sounds like a good plot for a parody though.

Jenny, that was in my head too while I was reading this thread. I wish I could pinpoint it, but I can't.

Maybe it was mentioned in the first Black Mirror (which I played almost 10 years ago and can't remember very well). There might have been a note or something that Samuel found and commented on when he was rummaging around the house early in the game.

Samuel's father's name was Randell Gordon, his name is mentioned by Harry the pub owner but I've not seen or heard any mention of his mother,I'm on my third replay so will keep a lookout for her. LOL.

Wasn't there a Family Tree puzzle in Black Mirror located on the wall in the Library or am I confusing it with another game? If there was I wonder if it shows Samuels parents names?

I could be wrong but I don't think there was a puzzle connected with the family tree in the library in 2 or 3. Maybe in Black Mirror I? I staggered through most of that but never finished it.

Just out of curiosity, where do you all (not a Southernism) think the devs could take Black Mirror if they did a fourth game once they've dug up Sam's parents. That's gruesome enough to do for a start, but where would they go after that? They seemed to have enough trouble trying to explain what was going on at the end of 3.

It is seen in the Gordon Mansion library in both Black Mirror 2 and 3 as clues for a puzzle in those games.

I might be wrong but I don't think there is a Gordon family tree puzzle in the first Black Mirror. I checked MaG's screenshot and discovered Sam's parents' names are Randell (dad) Elisa (mom).
