At some point recently in Advanced Search the Maximum Date Range changed to only 1 year.

There are many threads here older than a year that still have valuable and useful information, particularly about games released prior to April 2011.

How can those threads now be searched?

The GB search doesn't work for me at all any more. I just get a Java error.

Try using Google.
For example, with the game Morpheus, do a search for

Morpheus site:gameboomers.com

The "site:gameboomers.com" part limits Google to showing Hits on the Gameboomers site. Any link it finds with ubbthreads in the link will be the forum.

You can add other search words to the game name, like Hints or Glitches or whatever name of the forum you want to narrow it down.

Hmmm... Search works perfectly for me. However, when I put in more than 1 year, I do get the message that I can't search more than one year back.

I'm hoping MaG will be able to restore the previous Maximum Time Range (and also fix your Java error). If not, thanks to you I have an alternative way to search, albeit probably not as convenient.
