Since I had to work Friday and Saturday, I couldn't play as much as I'd like. I never got to Lion's Arch for example. I never found any of the in town activities either, other than crafting.
After making that rune I checked wiki I found that I had discovered a different way of making it than was posted. So, either there are multiple possibilities for some items or they changed it since earlier betas.
I played norn ranger, charr thief, human guardian and human elementalist. If there is another beta I think I'll try necromancer, mesmer, warrior and maybe engineer. I got elementalist to level 7. Most of the rest weren't above 3. Other people who played one character and had more time got to much higher levels.
Each character you make starts out with one weapon. For the ones I did it was a main hand weapon. You start out with one skill and unlock two more by killing foes. When you get an offhand weapon (personal story reward, drop or purchase) you can unlock two more skills. I never found a two handed weapon, which would start with 1 skill and have 4 to unlock.
You also start out with 1 healing skill. The 3 utility skill slots an elite skill slot are locked. Elementalist starts out with fire and water attunments. Air and earth unlock as you level up. I forgot what level air was unlocked but earth didn't become available until level 7. You have to unlock each skill for each weapon for each attunment. So elementalist will take longest to unlock all skills. Utility skill slots will unlock as you level up. I unlocked one slot. You get skill points which you can spend on either other heal skills, utility skills or eventually elite skill. First couple skills will cost 1 point each after that they go up. I have no idea what elite skills cost.
You automatically have an underwater weapon when you go underwater and start with one skill and have to unlock the others in combat just like on land.
The first skill of every weapon has no recharge so you can spam it. Oddly you use skills in town though you wont hit anything or anyone.
If you drink a transformation tonic you have no skills. The description say you can't fight but I discovered you can't talk to NPCs either. So you can't do anything but move around. Fortunately there is an option to return to normal (unlike GW1 potions which are timed and have no effect on your abilities).
Dancing emote was still not available.
Have to go to work.

Pre-purchasers invited to take part in a stress test Monday, May 14th, 11am-6pm Pacific time. That's 1pm-8pm my time. I have to work most of it.
Lot of Americans, like me, think this is a lousy time for a test, since its during working hours. Europeans seam to like it since its in the evening for them and apparently European servers had problems during the previous beta weekend.
Arenanet mentioned using new characters or existing ones, which seems to indicate that they did not wipe the database after the beta weekend. Perhaps I can get a new dye from the seed I got after all.

The Guild Wars 2 Facebook page has reached 500,000 followers. They've posted a new image in celebration, Destiny's Edge versus the Shatterer.
There have been updates to the game that can be downloaded before the stress test later today.

Found a bug, not alone, lots of posts about in in the GW2 official forum. Can't go to character's home.
Edit: after work I tried again and the bug was fixed. Stress test is over now.

Wow, that is a wonderful story. I wonder if she has a book in the offing?

I made two characters in GW1 to reserve the names for GW2.

Yea, I'm glad you got them. How many characters can you make?

Beta test version allowed for 5 characters, that's enough for one character of each race. I don't expect it to change for launch. Its possible to buy more slots.
