I found the full name of Dr Goldberg and have correctly followed and entered all the right commands to get the file number for Raymond Abbot (me) and came up with 7992-AQ-4344. Thanks for the clue to right click those file drawers to find out which drawer to look it. Drawer #1 is labeled AA001 - FR345 and that is where I am/have looking/looked for Ray's file number, have used the whole thing, bits and pieces in a variety of ways like using only 7992 or 799 or AD4344 and I am failing as a secretary/file clerk because I cannot find any part of my file number "on" the drawer or any of the other 3 drawers either. Any tips or clues would be so helpful. Bert is a great guy but his walkthru is not helping me much, he left out too many "helps" and here I am hanging around this empty (but not for long, yet somehow that clock has stopped and the time is not passing, strange) office waiting to get caught by someone walking in and I cannot leave or hide anywhere. LOL, gotta have a bit of fun and a laugh every day or I'll go Bonkers!
Love, Betty Lou

Hi BettyLou, you need to find 'a batra's' file in the drawers & not 'Raymond's'.

If you've already looked up 'a batra' on the mainframe terminal the file reference should be on your phone.

If not, login to the mainframe terminal again with Goldberg's user name & password for it & enter '/search' then type in ' a batra' - you will then see the file reference for him/her?

Hope that helps - just shout if you need more! I must admit that I did find this section of the game a little mind-boggling! lol

AHA, that was my problem, I was looking for the wrong file in the drawers - got lost somewhere between the first "lookup" of batra and Ray and totally "lost it" LOL. Thanks so much for putting me back on the right path. Could not get back here yesterday to thank you and report as I was out and about with a friend most of yesterday and "crashed" when she brought me home - then take care of dogs, cat, hubby (had eye surgery Tues cataract doing great) and get dinner and my mind then does not "work" just eat and watch TV. Refreshed today and will play again later, almost done with demo. If I get confused misunderstanding about my preorder with Dave and GOG maybe I will get to play the whole game soon. Thanks much, Love,Betty Lou

Done, but my demo ended with Dr Morales bleeding out on the floor of his lab - no hospital etc, what's up with that? The walkthrough went a bit too far?????
Love, Betty Lou
P.S. Thanks for all your help. If GoG ever allows me to download my paid for preordered game I think I will try it on my laptop - on my desktop computer it seems my puter is too slow to run it properly, lots of "stuck phonograph needle" speech and action and it took hours longer than it should have to run just a simple scene and let me use my cursor to act or react to something - or, wait, is the game supposed to be that way because of that "resonance" thingy? Resonance is a form of the word resonate - does that have any connection to the echo's I was getting thruout the demo? Or is it my computer not being new enough to handle it? Maybe my laptop is fast enough to smooth the running of this download so it is 'normal'. See ya round if I get stuck on real game.

Hi BettyLou, I'm glad you managed to get through the demo. I know what you mean about the walkthrough going too far as my demo also ended with Dr Morales bleeding out on the floor of his lab!

But as I understand, if you pre-ordered the game you had the option to download & play a preview which had a little more in it than the demo (if that makes sense!) which would account for the extras in the walkthrough!

I was unable to download the full game using the GOG Downloader & ended up downloading the files manually which didn't take too long. I blamed GOG's downloader but it did work okay for another game shortly afterwards! smile

Have tried downloading this game and 1 of 3 others (Atlantis) on 2 different computers using their downloader and it gets just so far and "paused" the game and extras and won't let me unpause it - is it their downloader doing this or is my computer/s? Don't understand why it doesn't let me get it going again, only thing I can do is close it all down. Oh, well, computers were designed to drive us all nuts anyway and "they"re succeeding at least with me they are. Have a great evening

I had the same problem Betty Lou trying to download the game using the installer - it seems to work for some games & not others so I don't think it's your computer(s)! I ended up switching of the installer option & downloading the game & extras manually - it didn't take long as the files aren't that large!

Well, I have successfully (I hope) downloaded Resonance (and Atlantis II) with the downloader but when I install Atlantis II and attempt to launch I get the message "cannot launch, needs elevation" and do not understand what that means - it cannot mean I need to raise my laptop up higher as that does not make any sense. Maybe I should go to Glitches forum and ask there what I should do, but am going to attempt first to redownload maybe without the downloader and try to launch game again. Will also try to install and launch Resonance, hope I don't get same message.
Love, Betty LOu

I don't know about Atlantis 2 but after installing Resonance I have to right-click on the icon & click Run as Administrator every time I want to launch it!

I have both games now downloaded, installed and have launched both to be sure they run. (got download/install problem fixed but do not understand what I did to "fix" it/them.) Run OK except for Resonance which has an issue with audio which "echoes" like a stuck phono record am going to Glitches to see if there is anything I can do to "fix" or help this issue. Can't believe my laptop with VIsta OpSys isn't running well/fast enough to overcome this problem. Understand if my desktop puter is too old, but this is ridiculous!. See ya round

Thanks Mag, problem solved (at least for now). 2 things here - 1. went to Glitches and asked for help, suggested I get to R. options and make adjustments to audio settings, not much can be done but one item Disable Music was there and I turned it on, on my desktop in the demo and it worked! there is music I hear but the stuttering is gone. Tried to do same thing on my laptop for the game and could not achieve same result, wouldn't let me change settings, I believe it is the fault of Vista. So downloaded game onto my desktop and playing it fine. 2. I am stuck again at that dern computer trying to find the first name of Dr. A. Jones, (this is name I have now in game, not the same as the demo) But none of Emma Walters' emails etc give his first name. I sorta understand how this works with that password cracker but if the first name isn't given ANYWHERE how do I determine the user name I am trying to get the password to? Too many male names (I assume it's a male) start with "A" to use trial and error. HELP please - did anyone else have jones as the last name? Using ajones as user name gets me nowhere with computer cracker, tells me invalid user name.
Love, BEtty Lou

Hi Betty Lou, now you have the name ajones, type it into the users's name on the secretary's computer on the desk (not the mainframe terminal!) & use the password cracker on the symbol of the USB port at the bottom left to crack his password. It should bring up a page where it says 'Welcome ????? Jones' at the top which gives his first name.

After that you hopefully had already read the draft of the angry letter in the secretary's account i.e. ewalters that states that the antevorta login (i.e. for the mainframe terminal) consists of entering the first 3 letters of the first name followed by the first 3 letters of the last name.

So for ajones the last 3 letters are 'jon' preceded by the first 3 letters (first one a) that you see in the full name of ewalters draft. You can now go to the mainframe terminal to enter the user name. As kjos has said that he had alexei as the first name, yes it will be alejon! Hope that helps!
I've finished the game now so will keep looking if you need more help! smile
