After desperatly looking for a game that I like, I am just discovering one of the most fascinating incredible artistic game. OUTCRY! I am completly subgugated by the philosophical story, artistic design, and imagination. I have just started and am completly entrance by it. When entering the shimmering world the graphic are outstanding, cubic. The decor outside the fragmented house (reality) moves imperceptibly like clouds(out of time)and that scared the hell out of me. Like it almost reaches something deep in my subconcious, witch I believe is meant to be. Wish we had more games like this one. I am waiting to finish the game before going to read Flotsam's review. Glad I am not alone discovering this game. Being french, hope you understand my "charabia" (gibberish). Who did this game? Is it Russian? Cannot find the author.

Hi flotsam I just finished Outcry and read your review. Your review resumed a lot of my thought. Being (like you said) an obsesive compulsive, that game really disturbed me a lot specially for the visual effect and the music. It felt like my brain was fragmented like those images. But at the same time it fascinated me so much that I had to go on and get control of this weird world. I let myself go and I was rewarded. The second part in the desert deceived me a little because of the electricity puzzles and design witch did not seem to fit with the rest.(visually that is) . I had to cheat on this part being unable to understand even with the walkthrough about electricity in english.
At first I thought it was a game about Chaman's drug, with the dolmen etc. like so many other games. The visual setting, I had turned off it drove me crazy. (I had made the reference to camera shutter and gladly found the way to turned it off.) The music is great and is very moody. The music changes repertoir and coincide with the time changes. Love the key puzzle. The harp tower and music puzzle was very interesting to me. I kept the sound but I can understand it must be disturbing for the concentration. It might be gimmicky sometimes like you said and this visuel camera setting is sure also a new way to add to the adtmosphere. Even for example like and old decrepit sepia movie but it adds to the charm.
In all, you review was great and helped me to put my thought into words. I could go on and on about this game.
To resume, the creativity is outstanding and am hoping I will discovered other game by these authors.
The music is fantastic.
