I got the game through Steam ;last night and continued playing today. When I arrived at the police station in Act 1, the speaking voices suddenly disappeared. I am left with music volume and special effects volume, but I have no speaking volume. I went into the settings and all volumes were set to the maximum. I can only play the game now with captions to read what they say which is a bit of a pain.

Has anybody else experienced any problems with the speaking volume? Has anybody got any advice on the problem? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Callista.

Callista, have you tried the standard things:

a) Get out of the game completely
b) Switch of the PC and start it again, not just restart.
c) Start the game
d) Set the volume controls to Default. ?

and finally cross your fingers luck

Thanks for that. After trying that a third time over 2 days, the sound has returned (keep my fingers crossed). Now I know what it is like for a deaf person to play the game. I had to use the captions when I had no sound which detracts from the game so much, as you are concentrating on the captions rather than the game.

Thanks

Callista.
