Vince said Susie was good. Texted around 12:30, said she was on her way for biopsy and drain fluid. Be a few hours.

Susie is home. She asked for me yesterday so I went over there for a little while. Bill and I will go over tomorrow. She was in some pain while I was there yesterday and she just rambled on. Couldn't hear half what she was saying as she talked so low. She gets her walker today. Hopefully she will get up and start moving around a little.

Sometime next week. Dr. took Vince's card and said he would call as soon as he found something out. Her primary dr. is also calling every day.

unofficial diagnosis. Cirrhosis of the liver, caused by high levels of iron and fatty tissues. Susie is and was never fat. This is NOT caused by alcohol. She will be seeing the liver specialist the end of July. Good chance of liver transplant if she qualifies and she gets her strength up. Nurse is coming in almost every day and has P.T. every other day. Here we go, waiting again.

Oh, Flutist, I'm glad you know something, even if it's not good. At least, you can plan now. When will you get the official word?

I've been checking several times a day to see if you had heard something. So glad there is SOMETHING to deal with. I had a feeling a liver transplant was going to be required. Another good reason she looked up her family - I wonder if there is a family history?

Drac, there is a family history of pancreatitis and gall bladder. The biggest thing is to get her strong enough to do a liver transplant. She needs to get an appetite so she can start eating solid foods. She talks about texture of some foods, even those she used to eat. The home health care nurse she has lives just around the corner from her and is trying different foods on her. Her name is Susie and she is also adopted. Wow.

Hmmm... would be interesting to know if there is any connection between the family history and the non-alcoholic cirrohsis.

My prayers Bets...
People have to understand that... Cirrhosis of the liver is not always caused by alcohol.. I had a friend who died from this because of taking prescription pills, and Tylenol.
Prescription medication that these doctors gives out sometimes do more harm then good.

Dar, you are correct. If the doctor is on the ball and is aware to this, they will order blood tests to keep tabs on it.
