I entered the letters and numbers into the typewriter at Smythe's desk. Is this the correct typewriter? Am I to key in the comma's? Do I hit Next at any time? Or only just "Enter?" There is no "Shift" to enter smaller case letters. The thing is I also have tried both maps in the professors office and Smythe's office and I can't read a thing. The magnifier disappears in close up and can't get around the map to locate the coordinates. Am I in the correct room? Am I keying in the coordinates correctly? I only get the small pointer when at the map. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! So near the end but can't read the blurry maps. Even if I could, I couldn't get a close up as the magnifier disappears.

Mary, according to the walkthrough, you should be in Professor Hunt's office, to use his typewriter and check out the maps on his desk...

I wonder what I missed as I am unable to manipulate things on his desk. The w/t says that the map is by the desk. "Go to map by desk." And then one is lead to use a typewriter. Was there one at the Prof's desk? I can read the newspaper, and letter on top. I have the codex.
No typewriter is accessible there. Wonder if I should start at a previous game save. I manipulated everybook I could find and all objects throughout game. Had no probs. with the lantern, keys, etc.
So I am to use the magnifier on the Profs. desk? Nothing responds. I've tried to approach desk from behind (where the chair) is and can't. Will check back tomorrow to see if more posts are here. I know I missed something. I used the typewriter in Smythe's office. That may have been my error. Blech...tomorrow. Eyelids are drooping
Thanks so much for your help! Hope I made sense as I am so sleepy. It's still fun. Great gaming season!

What wt are you using?

If you're trying to type in the order form - use Smythe's typewriter.
Go behind Smythe's desk and fill out the Order Form. Type in inventory number 1020624 in Store D. Click enter. Then take rubber stamp from inventory and click it above logus sigilli.

Map is at Professor Hunt's office. If you have the coordinates,
then go to the map on the wall beside the desk:
Click on map. Move magnifying lens to N 60-70 and E 20-30.
Click to look closer. Move N 65-70 and E 25-30.
Click again. Move the lens to E 28 and N 68.

I figured it out. To make the typewriter appear, one has to click on the stone in the inventory. I did this after examing book about languages in the Profs. office.
* * Another question.* * I know I picked up the Codex at the start of the game. It is not in the Inventory. Is this a glitch? Or must I start game over? Also, I believe they said that each episode is sort of self contained, but what if Codex is needed later during following episodes???

New problem. All directional info is entered correctly on keyboard. I only get E/W directions, not N/S directions when magnifier is on map. Hmmmm....The walk through says to enter N68 but I never get an "N" to locate "60-70." I have located E 20-30

Got it. There is no N/S that will show. One has to sort of orient using the sides of the map to be in the correct north region. I just kept clicking on E28 as I scrolled down in that area!
