When will the next new RPG that fits my style become available. I don't particularly care for mostly shooters and like a lot of exploring and quest solving so I'm a little choosy when it comes to RPG's.
I was really happy with Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition until towards the end when I ran into, what was for me, an impossible situation and couldn't continue so that is a dead end. (Didn't want to include spoilers.)
I have been replaying my recent RPG's until they are getting a little stale. Skyrim, Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dragon Age Inquisition plus even DA Origins and DA II. I've been hoping for a similar game to come along that peaks my interest but it looks like the closest one Kingdom come deliverance (which I'm hoping will fill the bill) is a long way off.
While I'm waiting for another to come along I'm contemplating digging out some of my old favorites like KOTOR and Vampire Bloodlines. What's a fella to do?

Well, according to Obsidian, inXile and couple of the remaining independent U.S. game houses, a new golden age for RPG's is starting. Throw into the mix the elusive Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Projekt RED and I think 2017 is going to be a very exciting year.

Heh !! Takes me months, not weeks, to get through any RPG - which is why my game stack gets so out of control

My initial point was I have run out of RPG's to play and am having to go through my list of already played to decide which to replay. Since I've replayed all my favorites until I am blue in the face, I'm looking for one to peak my interest now.
I'm sure 2017 will be wonderful but that's 6 months to a year away.
I'm searching for an RPG that is my style and not too complicated control wise and not to difficult combat wise that I can enjoy today. There doesn't seem to be any and so I'm contemplating returning to KOTOR or Vampire Bloodlines as it's been ages since I replayed them and my favorites are pretty much over played.

I know exactly what you mean, Oldman - I'm the same way. I've replayed Bloodlines many times, Redemption is my all-time favorite game. I haven't played KOTOR, but maybe I should I agree with your hopes for a new game, I also need at least some kind of plot.

Thanks for the suggestion but I looked at the video and it's not really my kind of game. Other's may like the exploration of it though. It does look interesting what with the dinosaurs etc.

Yes Mad I have and enjoyed them.
Karsten I enjoyed the Mass Effect games except for a particular one of them. It might have been ME2 or ME3 I'm not sure but there was a particular battle when you had to dodge a space chip and hack away at it or something like that but I couldn't get past that particular battle and had to quit the game unfinished. This was one that cheats wouldn't even work.
I've started replaying KOTOR now and enjoying it. It's been long enough since I played it that it seems almost new. I'm now on the search for Bastila.

Oldman, have you played Dishonored? I've just started another game after a couple of years, and I'm remembering why I enjoyed it so much. Not too complicated control-wise, and if you play sneak you don't need to do much (or any) combat.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good luck, oldman I remember my first stumbling block in KOTOR was having to race some kind of a mchine. I've forgotten what it was called but it took me a LOT of tries to do it successfully

Thanks Hagatha, I checked youtube for Dishonored and it looks like more of a shooter than RPG to me, although I could be wrong.
Mad, it's called a Swoop Race and I found a Mod to make the race easier. Plus I had saved the EX Turret Mod to get me through the space ship battles.
Anyway, I finished KOTOR and am now starting KOTOR 2 plus I've found Mass Effect 3 for $9.95 so have it installed also. I thought I already had ME3 but, if so, must have lost it on change of computers. I just hope this is not the one that has that impossible battle towards the end but will find out.
Nohiltes I enjoyed the first Deus Ex but have really gotten tired of 3d person shooters. Maybe down to road I'll dip my feet in the Shooter water again.

oldman Could you possibly be kind enough to PM me a link to that Swoop Race Mod ?? [Always hoping a mod is an easy thing to deal with, of course, as I've never used one.] Cheers. Mad

I'm still disappointed Bioware canceled "Shadow Realms" which was to be set in modern day Earth and on an alien word, combining magic and modern tech even if they did spend some of the time and money on Star Wars: The Old Republic expansions instead. It was supposed to allow for wizards in trench coats. It was to be a online multiplayer game. Teams of 4 heroes would take on a dungeon controlled by the evil Shadow Lord which was actually controlled by another person. Like the other classes Shadow Lords would have gained more skills with experience.
