I've been waiting for the patch, Marian, but it looks like it's only available via Steam at the moment ??

GOG has the patch now, too - it looks like it was added there on August 1st.

I went to GOG today, Marian, but never saw it

I got the game from GOG. When I look at it in my GOG library, choose "more" and then go to "changelog," the patch is listed and the fixes are listed.

I followed the path you have given, thank you, and DID get to a notice about the patch and what it fixes - but can't find anything to click on that will let me download it

I don't use Galaxy and am wondering if that could be the reason ??

I use Galaxy exclusively and there's a box that you check that automatically updates the game with any patches needed.

Having said that, I would think that if you are not using Galaxy that the game download would include the patch, being as you don't see it as a separate download.

There is no indication as to whether the version being displayed by GOG for download - NOT via Galaxy - includes the patch or not and I obviously need to know that

If I use Galaxy, am I able to download both game and patch files without them auto installing ??

[The reason I normally just download the files by browser is so that they go direct to my "Downloads Folder" and stay there until I want to install them.]

There might be a new version number after having downloaded the game from GOG, but of course I don't know that for sure. And you would need to know the original version number, of course.

If you download the game through Galaxy, it will install the game with the patch automatically. Maybe there is a way to keep it from auto-installing, but since I have never done that I am not sure.

And after just a small peek, I already feel an addiction looming !!!!

Unable to resist - I have gone and played a small chunk

The game is extremely reminiscent of the Quest for Glory games and, considering what I've played so far, very well done !!

So I can see another small chunk getting played fairly soon
