We look at Night Call as a strong narrative experience with light resource management and investigation mechanics. Its power is certainly in the stories being told by the 70+ passengers you’ll encounter in the back of your cab. Some passengers detail whimsical lighthearted moments, others peculiar and thought provoking, and a few will come into the backseat with very dark accounts exploring themes not often seen in games. Night Call is not one story but rather a collective narrative from all these characters who have something to share and contributing to the greater investigation that you are now charged with being a part of. Will you find the killer running rampant in Paris?
Night Call is intended for mature audiences, here’s the content warning we have in place on its store page verbatim:
Text references to violence, sexual acts, and use of alcohol. Potentially triggering dialogue with themes including tragedy, politics, religion and violence. Use of profanity and potentially offensive language.
You may have been coerced into aiding in this investigation, but the backseat of a cab is a confessional and its driver a confidant told the most intimate secrets before letting their passenger go and never seeing them again. For me this depends on the politics espoused and the outcome. As an intellectually battered American, I won't be able to escape into and settle into a game with the kinds of outcomes that are the opposite of those I look to games to provide. I am proud to have read the entire Mueller Report, for crying out loud. The last thing I want to do is play a gritty, realistic political game with a depressing outcome. Should I feel the need for a dose of depressing reality, I can pick up the report again (shudder), read a newspaper, or turn on the TV.
I am looking for reviews that will tell me something about just how noire things get in Night Call and whether the controls are WASD.
I am not a fan of WASD unless the game is outstanding enough to make me forget the controls, so far I haven't seen any information on that.
That said, this game looks intriguing.

Youtube uploader "Luckless Lovelocks" has played a preview version of the game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjAP3bRSYxIIt appears to have point-and-click mouse control because at some points you see him moving the cursor around and selecting options and dialogue.
