The quick save works, but I can't make a hard save. Nothing is active on the save menu page.

I'll have to boot up into my other drive tomorrow and check this out. You say you can quick save, but the save doesn't appear when you want to load a game, right? I never used quick save, just the regular save, so I'll have to see what's going on.

Yes, I can quick save, but if I try to do a regular save, I can't. There is no place on the page that is active. I believe there are 3 quick saves and 1 auto save, which is a lot better than 1 quick save.

I haven't tried to load a save yet, just used continue. The quick saves do appear for loading.

OK. I just booted into my old drive and loaded Prey two. I loaded a game and then hit Esc. That brought up the main menu with:

Resume
Quick Save
Quick Load
Save game
Load game
Options
Tutorial
Exit

When I selected Save Game it took me to the saved games list where I have 15 saved games. There was a + with Create New Save at the top. I double clicked it and a new save was created to make 16 of them.

Sometimes games won't save, and save options are greyed out, if security settings are blocking access to the game's save folder. So one thing you can try is to make sure the save folder allows access to everything and doesn't have any restrictions on permissions. I don't know where the save folder is, but maybe Draclvr can help you with that.

Another thing to try, if you haven't already, is to run the game as an Administrator (right-click the game shortcut and choose Run As Administrator).

Drac, thanks! It was nothing more than the double click. I always single click and didn't try double click. So simple. I'm surprised I didn't try that. Manual save accomplished. On with the game.

Jenny, thanks for the links. I will save them in case I need them later. I did consider running as administrator, though I have never needed to do so. The option is not listed on the shortcut and I had a hard time finding Prey.exe. Finally got a tip on the Reddit forum. It is a strange pathway and takes 11 clicks to get there . One of the folders is labeled Danielle. Almost like they were trying to hide it.

I found the double click odd too... it wasn't like that in the initial download a couple of years ago. Guess it was something that was changed in one of the updates.
