The idea doesn’t appeal to me at all. Have always wondered how popular they are amongst my fellow Gameboomers.

I have played them for years. When they are good, I enjoy them very much. It might sound paradoxical, but they require a lot of focus and I find that relaxing in that I don't think about my real-life problems when I am playing.

I do realize, however, that I am in the minority on GameBoomers. I got MaG hooked on some farming time management games a few years ago; she just loved them.

One thing you have to be careful about is to lump all TM games together. They can be very different from one another; some are more like simulation games and others are more like real-time strategy games. Despite appearances at times to the contrary, they can vary widely. And no, they are not all timed, either.

I find HOPA’s relaxing for the same reason, Marian. Different strokes.

I agree, Sparkle. And I also like HOPAs very much. They don't require the same kind of focus that TMs do, though, unless you are in the middle of a really difficult puzzle.

Not my cup of tea either, but we can't all like the same thing. I love some of the strategy games eg Cradle of Rome, Cradle of Persia etc as well as HOPAS.

I like Cradle of Rome and Cradle of Persia too, Mary! I never run out of games to play on Big Fish because I like so many different types of games. wave

The games I play from Big Fish are mainly the "adventure with a story" type which (hopefully) don't have loads of hidden object scenes.

I think if I attempted anything like time management or strategy my characters would probably all die from starvation or homelessness or some other kind of dreadful neglect !! shocked

Sometimes I am in the mood for something totally mindless like one of my old - really old! - HOGs. And I play the Incredible Dracula time management games as a time killer. But again, I only like the old ones!

I've given up on the mainstream Big Fish Games. I just find them so repetitive with the same old tired graphics and insipid dialogue. I loved the Drawn games and wish there were more like them.

I agree, in that TM games aren't my cuppa. I had enough stress with real-life "time management" during my 40-year design career! I play to relax from life's stresses and give the old brain some mental exercise. ha ha Still, I know I am in the minority among gamers, clearly, due to the overwhelming percentage of combat and time management games vs. adventure-style or HOA play. Different strokes, I get it, but it is disappointing to see HOA releases declining in favor of the other genres.

Just want to point out that there is nothing stressful about the time management games that offer a relaxed/untimed mode, and most of them offer this now as a choice for the player. There are hordes of players now who enjoy these games simply because they are under no pressure at all with this mode of play.

Yes... what Marian said. Most all of them offer a "relaxed" mode.

I also have noticed BF is overdoing it with all the TM games. First there was a glut of Christmas games and now this!

There are a lot of people out there who like TM games, despite most of our posters not being interested in them. There are also more time management games being released as CEs now. Next Thursday another HOPA CE is supposed to be released. No worries - they will continue. smile

I agree with GuybrushThreepwood, I find these games to be very annoying, it's almost like the stress of work without the pay.

I have tried a few TM games to see if it was just one particular, but no I hate them all.

Having said that, what a boring world if we all liked the same thing.
