Hi ya all,
I was playing Veritas and I made it to Chapter 3 and after playing for awhile the game crashed, for some reason or another when I restarted the game, all my saves were lost. I have wrote to the game producers but since they are a small team of 2 it may take awhile for them to come back to me.
So my question is: Does anyone who played or is playing the game have a saved game for Chapter 3.
Thanks

Sorry to hear about your lost saved games.

I am reading that the game also has an auto save feature - does that not work either?

Otherwise, let's see if anyone is able to help.

Thanks Marian,
Unfortunately the *Auto save game feature(s) was the one that got wiped out completely and when I restarted the game it was as if I just started the. I looked in the Folder were the game(s) was saved and it only had the Current date and time save game. I am not the only one with this problem, in fact, there are many Glitches in this game, maybe the Developers Jinxed themselves by calling the Site "Glitch Games site".

* You cannot save your own games unless you send them to a Cloud save game storage site.

Yes, when I went to Steam to read about the game, I noticed that they were called Glitch Games. They seem very responsive to helping people out with issues, so that's reassuring.

Well Marian, at least the game developers are trying hard, when I went to their Export Save files page I noticed for Chapters 3 and 4 they added a note in Caps. "BROKEN FOR NOW SORRY!"
So hopefully soon they will fix this and I will be able to continue the game.
Bravo to the Devs. for trying to fix things.

Hm. I hope that they get it fixed. I'm sure GreyFuss posted that he played the game without running into any problems. I don't have this game yet but it is on my wishlist. I'm curious Starcom, do you have the game from Itch.io or from Steam?

Hi oldbroad, I bought the game from Itch.io but according to Marian and my recent visit to Steam, a lot of people are having the same problem and other problems like disappearing Inventory items, etc.
Hopefully the bugs will be fixed by the time you get it.

Now you got me curious where GreyFuss got the game.
take care and stay safe.

Hi you all, I received an email from Glitch games stating that they had a newer version of the game, so after installing the newer version, I decided to replay the game (not a favorite pass time of mine) and when I got to Chapter 3 I quit the game and went straight to the save game location and made a copy of it, just in case. And I will continue to make copies of the SG all the way to the end, so now you can call me Mr. Paranoid. scared

I would be doing the same thing Starcom. I hope the rest of the game goes smoothly and with enjoyment!

Thank you oldbroad for the words of encouragement, I will continue playing the game later tonight, I also hope all goes well. Finishing this game without further crashes will help me decide to buy the Forever Lost episodes, of course I am hoping they bundle it at a slightly lower cost, budget is tight and converting US dollars to Canadian, HURTS Big Time.

Well it looks like the upgrade to a newer version from Glitch is working, no crashes in Chapter 3, although I still made 4 SG points and now I am in Chapter 4 with 3 SG points so far...
This is a Great game, great puzzles , very good Visuals and the 2 at Glitch have really done a great job with this game.
More later.. take care and stay safe.

Well I finished the game, Chapter 5 wasn't too long and Chapter 8 and 9 were very short (No chapters 6.7.8, part of the devs. humour I guess). The game ending was very Weird though, so much so I thought the game crashed scared, I had to refer to a walkthrough and sure enough, I completed the game thumbsup. My ratings for this game even with the Crazy ending is still 5 Stars out of 5. I will definitely replay it down the road and again good news, no crashes with the latest version release.

Thank you Marian and oldbroad, and yes the game is weirdly interesting but if you love games with Lots of puzzles, I am sure someone like Reenie sherlock would love the puzzles in this game, I repeat, a Great game and at a very reasonable price.

Sorry everyone! Only just saw this thread on here!

The short version of the issue is that we upgraded the saving code and it caused some issues with both local and cloud saves. It's mostly all fixed now, we think, but sadly there might still be issues and things take longer as the company is just two people and only one of them is a programmer, and he's not that good ( that's me ).

It's exacerbated by the fact that 8 out of our 10 games are all built on the same framework, so when an issue is found in the framework I have to update 8 games across multiple stores, only to then get to the end of that process and another problem is found so I have to start it all over again with more builds :-)

We also have updated the exported saves for each chapter up here so they should now work - https://glitch.games/support/exported-save-files/

HELLO! WE ARE GLITCH GAMES!
We make adventure games.

Just to add or re-add what I said before, Version 1.0.9 worked like a charm and I just received another update to Version 1.1.0 and I would imagine that the newest version will work like a charm, thanks GlitchGames for keeping us informed and up to date and thanks for all your hard work and also for making great and fun games.

Right now I am playing "A Short Tale" , wow Fun and Lots and Lots of puzzles..... thumbsup
