So, do you still only have pictures and no text in MaG's walkithrough? The text is what you will need to be able to follow what you need to do. I played it, but it's been so long ago, I don't remember much. There is a lot to do before you get that key.
Let us know about that walkthrough because there is a LOT to do in this game and you're going to need it!

And I guess we have to assume it has text in addition to pictures.

pcgamingwiki has a location for the Steam version, but if you have a different version it will probably install somewhere else. It wouldn't surprise me if a version bought from Shadow Tor installed in a Shadow Tor subfolder. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Lost_CrownI don't know why your desktop icon would disappear though, unless Windows for some reason reverted to an earlier snapshot and forgot everything after an unsuccessful update. Hope you can find your game and don't have to replay.

yes = i have bought the lost crown , 2 disc , i put the 1st disc in , it said put registration code for install, i have the code , now where do i put the code ? That sounds like the popup where you're supposed to enter the code is being blocked. What version of Windows are you using? You may have to run the installer in compatibility mode. You may also have to run the installer as an Administrator (right-click the Setup and choose Run As Administrator).

thanks, i have windows 10 , where is the installer compatibility ? and if that don,t work use the administrator [ right click to setup and choose run as adminiattrater, is that right ? thanks for your help . I assume it's similar to Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 I've never used Windows 10 for games and you're better off asking someone who does. Browse the CD/DVD and look for the Setup file. Right-click that, then Properties. If there's nothing called "Properties" then browse around the right-click menu until you find something with similar sub-options. You can also do an Internet search for Windows 10 compatibility mode and find everything about that I know and more.
