Hi.

Is there any way I can change the colour of the Taskbar - the one that runs along the bottom of the Destop Screen ??

I've R Clicked on the Desktop Screen and hit Personalize but don't know which option to select.
[Even though I must have known how to do it in the past !! woozy]

Cheers.

Mad smile

Are you in Windows 10? If so, you can just change the "theme" colors. Click on the Windows icon in the lower left, click on Settings, select Personalization. That takes you to the same place as right clicking the desktop and selecting Personalize. There are a bunch of options on the left including colors and themes.

This is my Win7 machine smile

I'm already at the place you describe, Draclvr, But can't find any way to change the colour of the taskbar.

I thought there was an option that allowed me to change the colour of the borders - across the top of the screen and of the taskbar at the bottom ??

I just can't remember how I did it previously !!

There used to be a way to change individual things waaaay back in XP. There are still some of those options, just not individually. It's beginning to get harder to find things for Windows 7, but I did find this video.

Change Taskbar Color in Windows 7

OK. Thanks for that smile

I watched it and carefully followed the route given but never found anything called Windows "Glass" Colour on MY machine.

I'm pretty sure that when I've changed the colour of the borders (incl. taskbar) previously, I just did it via "Themes" but I've experimented with a few and can't seem to get that to happen now frown

Very frustrating !!

I think I vaguely remember doing that with themes too. But it's been so many years since I've used Windows 7, I've forgotten!

I'm glad you figured it out Mad! I meant to check it out yesterday in my Windows 7 but forgot and am just booting it up now.

Draclvr.

If you think my Win7 computer is old, consider my WinXP that's still going strong AND my even more incredible Win98 - which has just celebrated its 23rd birthday and which is as good as ever praise

I cherish ALL my lovely machines and can still play my games on them dance

EDIT

And thank you oldbroad and Starcom grin

I'm HOPING my old XP drive is still operational! I built an entirely new computer to house it as the old case was falling apart. I haven't been able to boot it up for a long time because of a bad stick of RAM. ONE of these days, I need to work on it again!

Ooh Mad, 23 years old? I thought I remember you saying the 98 bit the dust a while back. I wish mine still worked.

So Mad, your Win98 is 23 years old, that is half your age isn't it?
Oldbroad, depending in how bad a shape you Win98 machine is and if you have a bit of pocket money to spare, find a reputable small computer shop and I am sure they can get it to work for less than a $100 buckaroos. You could of course ask for an estimate.

oldbroad, I might have once said my Win98 will no doubt bite the dust at some time but it certainly hasn't as yet bravo

And Starcom .... Unfortunately I am more than 3 times older than my Win98 machine !!!! scared

Did you have a Win 95 that quit working sort of recently?

No.
My Win98 machine was originally custom built as a Win95 and later updated to a Win98 and a while after that finally upgraded to a Win98SE.
And it MUST be one of the best machines ever built laugh laugh laugh
