I haven’t been a bother for sometime now so thought about time to surface.
I was doing great with this game until the laptop crashed.
I had to re instal but lost all my saves.
Please help an aged gamer by sending a “save” at the point— EXPLORE THE TOILET.
I can’t enjoy going that far again.
Thanks hopefully— Peter

Unfortunately I do not have any saved games for Shades of Black. We can wait and see if someone else does. Really sorry about the laptop crash wiping out all of your progress!

If no one else replies, you could try asking the developer of the Carol Reed games (Mikael) if he has any saved games. He is a member of GameBoomers.

You can also PM him through Gameboomers. He's really good at responding as quickly as he can!

I don't have any archive of saved games, but I contacted a friend who happened to have saves of the game on her laptop. So we solved it that way.

Sorry Mikael but I am going to be a nuisance.
I downloaded all the saves that you kindly obtained for me—and thanks to your helpful friend too.
However, they all appeared in game as internet shortcuts so wouldn’t work.
I expect, being not an expert by any means, that there is something that I didn’t do.
Please don’t go to anymore trouble because I can always start again .
(Unless of course there is a simple adjustment in how I downloaded from your email.)
Many regards—Peter

I don't get what you mean with "internet shortcuts".

The files must be saved to this location:
C:\Users\Admin\Saved Games\Shades of Black

This folder will be created after you've started the game once. Either right click the files in your email and save them there directly, or, if you've saved them somewhere else on your hard drive, move them to the abovementioned folder.

Hi Mikael. Thanks for your patience- you can guess how little I know- just an old gamer.
The reference internet shortcut came up somewhere when I was frantically searching for clues.
However, I obviously put the files in the wrong place.
Not to bore you but I started the the game again and found the file for that save and put the ones that you sent in that file, incorrectly.
(I must be boring you to tears)
I will now do as you advise and if you can stand the torture, i will let you know the result.
Regards-Peter
