I just happened upon this game and it looked interesting so I decided to purchase it. What a great decision that was. This game is fantastic. It is everything I always imagined a casual/adventure game should be. But imagine my disappointment when I discovered episode 4 was the end and there will never be a part 2. How can a game that was so good and loved by so many not get finished. So sad.......

Everyone here that played the game loved it, and were also disappointed that the game was never continued. Glad you found the original, though! wave

Here is an old forum post where someone had contacted Charlaine Harris, asking her about a part two:

Quote
I'm really surprised this subject is still being discussed. There are NO plans whatsoever for a sequel to this game. I contacted Ms. Harris herself awhile ago and asked her point blank about it and she said she wasn't interested in continuing the story. She also said that someone else could pick up the story and make a sequel if they wanted to. I'm just wondering why no other game developer has taken up the cause since there still seems to be a large fan base for this game. Maybe if we contacted the other developers and asked them about it?

I'm with you CountZero. I played the game earlier this year and am also surprised that the game was never finished, having been as good as it was. headscratch

OldBroad, I will mention this just in case you were unaware - the game designer and creative director of Dying for Daylight was Jane Jensen, who also did the Gabriel Knight games and Gray Matter among other things. She also did another casual game of this type called Deadtime Stories which I thought was really good too.

I have been thinking of replaying Deadtime Stories pretty soon. You can find it here.

I scarcely remember anything about it now, but I do know I enjoyed it.

Thanks. I did look at it already on BF after your first mention of the game.

If you replay it, post about it in the other thread (including which OS you play it on). I have listed it for future purchase as long as it plays okay. I know the game is kind of old.

Dying for Daylight is one of those games that you cant stop playing it. But you want to stop playing it because you want it to last a long time and you dont want to finish it. This doesnt happen to often. If developers would make more games like these instead of what they are churning out now days, hidden object/casual games would be thriving.

I just looked up Jane Jensen here and she was the game designer of far more casual games than I had remembered including three Women's Murder Club games which we were discussing in the What Casual Games Are You Playing thread a little while ago. Good to have my memory refreshed because there are quite a few.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Deadtime Stories and now Dying for Daylight, TLC. smile

I replayed Dying for Daylight about a week ago, after being reminded of it here in this discussion.
