I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to access the cheat console for Metro Exodus Enhanced, playing on Steam? One site suggests that I have to download and install something but it isn't clear to me what or how that works.

I know, I shouldn't need God Mode but it would be nice to have the option and a little extra ammo or a few more throwing knives would be wonderful.

I don't know anything more about it, but maybe someone here who has used these cheat consoles before can explain further. Googling brings up some other sites with cheat codes for this game via the use of "trainers," but since I don't know about any of these sites I am reluctant to provide links to them.

Hi, oldfeeble. I've played Metro Exodus a couple of times, but never used any kind of cheat codes, but I did look at the link Marian posted. I did some checking and it does appear you have to download and install the Cheat Engine. Once you do so, it says you can access the Dev Console. It says you enable the script and then use F1 to toggle into the console. The different things you can change are listed. However, I don't see anything in the list that allows you to have extra ammo.

Thank you both for the input - the Cheat Engine mode seems just a bit too involved for me and I am not sure I really trust the whole concept. So I will save the game a lot and hope for the best. Thanks again.

That's what I did, oldfeeble! I really, really liked this game.

Just an update on playing Metro Exodus - I ultimately used a game modification from WeMod found at https://www.wemod.com/

This modification is really easy to download and install and it gives you the option for Unlimited Health and Unlimited Ammo as well as a dozen other options that make the game a little easier in places. My anti-virus software didn't have an issue with WeMod whereas it thought that the downloaded files from Cheat Engine contained a virus.

It may be true that using any cheats detracts some from the true experience of the game but there is still plenty of excitement and apprehension with this game even with not having to worry about running out of ammo when the mutants attack. With the WeMod cheat you can still die a horrible death at a number of places in the game but you stand a better chance of surviving most of the time.

Now back to Metro Exodus, winter is coming on and the outlook is bleak but at least I have my health and perhaps things will get better - they certainly can't get much worse...............

I couldn't agree more. I try very hard NOT to need a cheat, but there are times you just need to get through a spot when the mutants won't stop coming and a cheat is a life-saver so you can move on. I remember a place in Metro Last Light where I spent 3 days killing mutants by the hundreds before I finally figured out I only needed to kill enough of them to get to a boat!

I'm not AT ALL a good fighter but I do play an RPG now and then because I really like some of them !!

Therefore, and without shame, I confess that God Mode style cheats will usually feature heavily in my game play
