How good is your musical memory?

What songs do the following first lines come from? Second lines added if everyone runs out of steam, and so on….

-1. There she stood in the street
-2. I say goodbye to all my sorrows
-3. On a dark desert highway
-4. I can’t hold it on the road
-5. Oh, I could hide 'neath the wings
-6. Oh we’re big rock singers
-7. Busted flat in Baton Rouge
-8. Hello Honey it’s me
-9. I loved you in the morning
-10. There is a town in North Ontario
-11. You ask me if I love you
-12. Well it’s Saturday night and I just got paid

Enjoy

Rog grin

6. Me and Bobby McGee - Kris Kristofferson (the original and still the best version by my reckoning) smile

Sherlock, have you heard Paul Rodgers with Joe Bonamassa? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlxXSdU6L_4 (from a brilliant live album)

Rog, I have never really got into the Dead, but having just sampled their version of that song and the rest of the album Skull and Roses, I have bought it (although I am still a die hard Kristofferson fan and prefer his version!) - thanks for the mention. catrub

Great solves everyone! smile

Not surprised, Lady K - it's a beaut. Always thought "Songs of Leonard Cohen" was his best album. As far as Harry Chapin goes, I feel the same emotion about "Cat's in the Cradle", with added guilt... frown

Took me a while Lex, 'cos I originally thought they must be heavy metal! As a country/rock group, I love 'em. (Mebbe not all of the live performances - they tended towards self-indulgence, but the studio albums were crackers). And thanks for the link - great version!
