I've re-played all my favourite parts of Gothic 2 and so have now installed one of my Gothic 3 versions, of which I have three, to see if I like IT - because I don't remember too much about it smile

I also have Arcania, which is supposedly Gothic 4.
I've never played it and it doesn't appear to have attracted many good reviews. Apparently it's reputed to play like a casual version of an RPG.
So I was wondering if anyone here has ever played it ??

I haven't played it, but I would also be interested in opinions of it.

I never played Arcania either, though it is in my pile of games.

I loved Gothic 3, though I never completeed it because it kept crashing.

You might also like Elex, if you haven;t played it. It is basically a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic version of Gothic, right down to the heavy-duty machismo and the three different factions you can join for different skill builds. It got mixed reviews but to me it played like the Gothics.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I like the look of Elex, thanks, hagatha, so might go for it in the future.
[Right now it's a bit too expensive yes]

Elex goes on sale quite often - in fact, a month ago it was on sale for 80% off. I feel quite certain that will happen again in the next few months.

And Elex 2 is coming out in March, which will probably lead to another discount on the original as well.

Now I've actually started playing Gothic 3 I'm remembering some bits. Certainly the opening scenes.

And I'm playing The Forgotten Gods enhanced version - which offers Qick Save and allows God Mode.
So just how I like it. YEAH !!!! 🤗

I've been trying to find a "world" map - notated in English - for Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods - without success.

Does anyone know if the one for the original Gothic 3 is the same map ??

Hi hagatha.

Thanks for the link but I had actually already found that one and it's not really what I need.

However, I did another search earlier today and found THIS which names the cities and shows where they are in relation to each other - and is more of what I was looking for.

[It IS for Gothic 3 but hopefully the cities won't have been re-named or moved for the Forgotten Gods version woozy]

Cheers.

Mad smile

I have played "Gothic 4" and enjoyed it a lot!
Could never understand bad reviews for it. It is a good game - just not what you would expect from a sequel to Gothic 2 & 3...

Had a glorious time with Gothic 3 (enhanced) .... enjoyed every minute .... and managed to complete all the quests for the path I took thumbsup

There was one silly quest though where I had to take a trader's wife on a shopping trip to buy drinks duh

Anyway, I've now fired up Morrowind YET AGAIN because it's another of my absolute favourites lol

It sounds like you did really well with Gothic 3, Mad. smile

And I know you will enjoy playing Morrowind again! grin

Mad, I end up playing Morrowind every 2-3 years. I also play Oblivion every now and again.

Next time I should really grab some mods to update the graphics at least, but overall the game is still a wonder. It had the best exploration of all of the ES games.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

After Morrowind, Oblivion is my next favourite, hagatha, but I don't replay it quite as often.

There's just "something" about Morrowind that really grabs me laugh

Morrowind didn't hold you by the hand and lead you everywhere. If you wanted fast travel, you had to work for it. Also, the dungeons were better, and I absolutely loved the Enchanting skill tree, which got watered down in later games. There's a sense of vastness and desolation that doesn't exist in the other games, even the northern parts of Skyrim.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I'm definitely NOT a briliant fighter but I can somehow manage battles better in Morrowind.

[Although, as with all RPGs, I do have to resort to God Mode when things get super tough shocked]
