Hi all,

it is soon time for Jochen's and mine yearly 'mega-session' where we play adventures 3 full days in a row ;-)
Currently looking for candidates to play - we usually try to play one myst-style, one story-driven and - if there
is still time left - one point&click (like MonkeyIsland) game. Play time obviously is a factor so I have two questions about
Life is strange 2 to anyone who played the game (note: I mean the one with the two boys - NOT Before the Storm).

1) How long does it take to complete it (the full gane, meaning ALL episodes, I heard it is distributed as multiple episodes) ? Any estimated play time would be great.
2) Is it good? How would you rank it compared to Life is Strange 1 and 'Life is Strange - Before the Storm'
We LOVED Life is Strange 1 ( and that says something, considering our favorite sub-genrre is myst-clones and this definitely is not
a myst clone) and we thought Before the Storm was just 'okay'

As always, any help would be very appreciated, thanks
Mike smile

I played it. It’s great. But it’s a bit different to the first one. It’s like a road movie rather than being set all in one place. There are five episodes. Each takes a few hours to complete. Could be about 15 hours total, depending on how much you explore. Maybe even more. You need to play The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit as well, which is a free mini-episode that you play between episodes 1 and 2 of the main game, I think. But yeah, if you liked the first two games, there’s no reason not to like this one. smile

Whew. I'm glad somebody has an answer for you mike_bn. At the risk of sounding like a broken/stuck record, I have those Life is Strange games but haven't tried playing them yet.

Hi Dan, many thanks for the info. It really helps :-)

@oldborad I cannot believe you have not played LIS 1 yet. Unless those kind of games are not your cup of tea, you should really play it soon. One of the few games that really left a lasting impression on me. Some moments were so emotionally intense, imo. Of the games where the focus is on the story (and not on puzzles) it is one of the best games I ever played.

Thanks for the info on the game mike_bn. I was under the impression you were more into puzzle games. I will get around to playing it one of these days, I hope. wave

Oldbroad, you are totally right about me being more into puzzle games ('myst-games'). I mentioned it many times here. But that doesn't mean
I/we don't like other adventure sub-genrres as well. My friend and I defined three categories of adventure games (of course this definition is not perfect by any means but we use it as a rough classification) : myst-like (e.g. Rhem, Schizm) , story-driven (Life is Strange, Dreamfall) and point&click (Monkey Island, Loom, Sam&Max..). We play all kind of games that fall in one of those categories. And of course, sometimes there is a game that is really hard to classify and we still play it (Gorogoa...) Of all those categories, myst-like are our favorites. So if I recommend something belonging to a different category, that means something :-) So play the game already ;-)
