I know I HAVE played one other in this series but without reading a synopsis of each of the games I couldn't tell you which one. And I haven't had time to bother just yet. [Once I've played a game its content often goes straight out of my head !!] However, I'm sure I would have remembered if I'd given up on it EDIT : OK. Got too fed up and have now uninstalled it and started "Dark Tales : Edgar Allan Poes The Gold Bug" which is looking much more like something I will enjoy EDIT 2 : Yes !! Enjoying THIS game very much indeed

Horror !!!! I have come to a dead end in this lovely game and have approached Big Fish for help. I am about two thirds of the way through and an item I should be able to manipulate on-screen is totally unresponsive so I checked the in-game guide and found that I had completed an action slightly before the guide describes it as getting completed and I am thinking that that could be the cause of the problem. [There was nothing to stop me from doing this I might add !!] I had a similar issue a couple of years ago with another game I really liked (it was called something like "The Black Veil") and the only solution offered at that time was a credit for a different game which is not what I ever really want. I suppose I could start the game over agin and play the two actions in exactly the order as described by the guide - but much as I like the game that is not what I really want to do having already got so far through it Meh !!!!

I have been sent a game code, Marian, however that doesn't help with the issue ☹️
But better than nothing of course.
At least Big Fish do always offer something 👍

O.K. I restarted the game with a new profile and speeding up the process by skipping through puzzles whenever I could, reached the point just before where the dead end occurred in my original play. Then I resorted to the guide and did the next few actions in the exact way it described .... and yes .... got past the dead end. This is obviously a fault that was not picked up in the pre-release testing. I shouldn't have been allowed to do the actions in the order I did them in my original play, even though it did make sense to do them that way !! Anyway, hopefully there won't be any similar issues during the rest of the game because I really do like it

I haven't played any Cave Quest games, oldbroad, in fact I don't think I've ever bought any As for my issue with the Gold Bug game .... It happened well into the game sometime after I'd sailed across water in a small rowing boat. It's then vital NOT to "build a saw" until after you've first got a kettle to boil and put a boot near it. See page 46 of the guide.

As I said before, I did not have this problem when I played Gold Bug, but am making a note of this too for when I replay the game. Thank you for the information, Mad. I finished Witches' Legacy: The Ties That Bind CE yesterday. This is the fourth game in the series and I am playing them in order (but not all of them in a row!). Really good game, and a long one too. This morning I started Fear for Sale: Sunnyvale Story CE. This game came out in 2011 so there are more hidden object scenes than I would like, but the game is so nicely done that I am playing it anyway and having a good time while doing so. I am glad you are liking Cave Quest, ob! The sequel is much longer and more elaborate, but they did not fix what wasn't broken, thank goodness, and all the elements I liked about the first game are present in the second one.

Finished the Edgar Allen Poe story - both main and bonus - and really enjoyed it very much Now I've installed "Mystery Tales : The Hangman Returns" and from the few minutes I've played it looks like another I will like
