I download all my BF games to a huge external drive plugged into my Win7 machine. [And they are then activated on that machine.]

However, all of a sudden yesterday, when I opened Game Manager (to download new purchases) I got an "error 912" message which, when I looked it up, appeared to be saying the path between my external drive and BF is no longer working shocked

[I can still play any of the games already downloaded to that external drive.]

If I follow the "uninstall/reinstall Game Manager" procedure (that I saw as a suggestion) and use the current external drive details again for the download destination, will I lose all the games I already have on that external drive ?? [There are A LOT eek]

Or is there anything else I can try ??

Help always much appreciated yes

Mad, I found this old post on the Big Fish forum where a moderator discusses the error 912 message:

Quote
It sounds like an error is coming up when trying to install the game, This may not be something we can effectively fix over the forums, but I'll be happy to do my best to see if we can get it working. Error 912 is one of the error codes that comes up when the Big Fish Games app is having trouble finding the place the game is supposed to be installed. Generally it happens when an external hard drive is involved and ends up disconnected somehow. It can also occur if the drive letter where games are normally installed has changed.

If you contact our Technical Support Team, make sure to include the error code number in the email to them. They'll be able to better troubleshoot with the tools they have available.

Mad, I think Marian is correct to send a ticket to their Tech Support. However, make sure that drive is still being "seen" by your Windows 7. It's not impossible for a drive to fail or simply drop out. So, open up your File Explorer and see if the drive is listed, right click it and see what content is on it. It's been so many years since I've used Windows 7, but I think that is how you still do it.

Thanks to you both for responding smile

I did contact Big Fish and they want the usual Dr. Felix report so I'll look at dealing with that later today.

[The external drive I specifically use for Big Fish downloads is fine, Draclver. ]
