I have been enjoying this game. I had some problems but worked through them, often replaying parts of the game. I am in the factory in the centrifuge room and have one canister to place in the centrifuge. When I do so, the switch to turn it on is not activated. I looked at a Youtube video and the player had one canister as I did and the switch worked. Any idea what is wrong?

Edit: Well, I guess as soon as you ask for help, you find the solution yourself. I was able to back track and get another canister in the room that had a bunch. That activated the switch and I moved on. The canister wasn't enough to open the gate but I solved that too. I'm in the next chapter!

Well done, Pokey! I seem to remember having the same problem at that point. When I went back and got another canister, it worked.

I didn't trust those pneumatic tubes. The lever didn't move much and I wasn't sure if it worked.

More problems. After the catwalk collapses, you make it to the pump room and replace the two gears and turn the valve. Then I'm supposed to go down a ladder. I go back to the ladder I believe I came up and find there is no outlet from the room. There are two big rocks in the room. I checked a Youtube video and the player heads back to the same room, but instead of climbing down the permanent ladder, he jumps down. There is a lot of blood around where he jumped from. He picks up a rock and throws it at the wall and a ladder comes down.

I've tried throwing a rock with no success. I know this is a lot to consider, but hoping maybe someone had similar experience. I wonder if I broke the game when the catwalk collapsed except that the player ended up in the same room.

I remember this part being tricky, Pokey. I do know I had to throw a rock just right to get the ladder down. Try several times. I'm leaving for bowling right now, but I'll check back in when I get home later tonight.

Sorry to be so slow at responding but I was watching the US Open. Nadal was playing and he is my favorite player. I threw the rock many times but since I didn't know where to aim, it didn't work. I did wander further along the catwalk and discovered a ladder there and tried it. It led right where I wanted to go and I am in the next chapter. I am curious though. Was there a permanent ladder in that room without a door? I was wondering why players are jumping down rather than use it.

I wish I could remember about the ladder, but I don't! I was bowling last night, so only got to watch snatches of the US Open on the monitors above the lanes!

How did you know where to aim with the rock? I didn't fall with the collapse of the catwalk but found another ladder down and another up right near it, so thought that may have caused problems for me.

I wish I could remember, Pokey! It's been several years since I played it. However, this DOES make me want to do a replay! Can't remember if I asked if you had already played Amnesia: Dark Descent?

Yes,I played Amnesia and liked it a lot. This game might be more entertaining. There seem to be alternate paths that work. Makes me want to go back and see what happens when you fall with the catwalk collapse. Do you get a target in the room if you do it a bit different? I understand that you likely wouldn't remember small details after several years.
