Hi, everyone!

I just discovered that Big Fish has a 65% off sale for members and 35% off for non-members. Now would be a good time to pick up any games you've been wanting to buy but have been waiting for a good sale!

Hi, Marian and oldbroad!

You are both most welcome smile. I picked up "Gloomy Tales: Horrific Show" CE. I've been waiting for a good sale because I'm still working on points, so the fewer points I use, the more games I can buy happydance ! I hope you both managed to grab something as well!

Yes. I selected a game, got it in my basket and tried to go to checkout - only to encounter a continuous circling icon that prevented me !! 😱
So I left the game in my basket and applied for Big Fish Help.
(I'll let you know what transpires.)

Mad, that has happened to me several times before. I find that by starting over again and retrying that it works after that. Sometimes it has taken me more than two tries to get past that icon for everything to load properly. This is definitely something that needs to be fixed on their end as multiple attempts before successfully purchasing something shouldn't be necessary. I have seen many people commenting on this on the Big Fish Facebook page since the platform change.

I will probably do that, Marian, thank you, as I got an immediate reply from Big Fish, suggesting I clear my Firefox Cache.
But I already do that quite regularly πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’
So there ya go !!

Interesting to hear what they had to say about this. Glad you heard back from them so quickly, anyway.

Clearing the cache may help, but I would say it's ultimately a kink in their system that could use some ironing out.

Yes. Clearing the cache might help someone else but as I keep mine in good trim it didn't have any effect my doing it again !!

I expect there will be months yet of small niggles, after the huge changes Big Fish have made.

Anyway, all is now well at my end and I have yet another new game lol

Hi, Mad!

Oh no! I first tried to buy a game through the Game Manager and it froze when I tried to place my order, so I went to the website and was able to order it there. Then I rebooted my computer and the Game Manager had thawed out lol ! Judging by your last post, you were eventually able to take advantage of the sale, so congratulations!

Susan

I was buying direct from the website - not via Game Manager - but all is well now that I have the game laugh

Hi, Mad!

Just the opposite happened to me. After the platform change when there were so many glitches, Marian reported that she had no problems at all when she bought her games using the Game Manager. Up until then, I had purchased all of my games from the website, but I followed her suggestion and breezed right through the process. I don't know what happened on Wednesday, but I logged into the Game Manager and clicked "Buy" beside a game I had already demoed. Everything was fine until I tried to place the order, and the Game Manager froze. I then went to the website and the purchase went through without any problems.

I had another email from BF today, apologising, and also letting me know they are aware of this issue and will be fixing it as soon as possible.
AND they compensated me with a few gifted points.
How nice was that ??

That's very nice indeed, Mad! thumbsup

I figured they must have been aware of this issue for some time now, as I had seen so many people reporting it. Good to know they are working on it.

Interesting about the GM freeze, Susan. That has not happened to me...yet! smile

Hi, Mad!

Big Fish's customer service has never been in question, so it's nice to see that nothing has changed on that front. It's great that you received a few gifted points because, for those of us who live outside the U.S., they're as good as gold lol !

Hi, Marian!

"Yet" being the operative word laugh ! The Game Manager has never frozen on me before either because that's how I've been buying my games since the platform change. Of course, it had to happen while I was trying to purchase a game for 65% off with no idea how much longer the sale was going to last grin ! I was hesitant to give the website a try but, much to my surprise, the sale went through without a hitch. Once I rebooted my computer, the Game Manager was fine and I haven't had any problems since.

Hi, oldbroad!

Thanks, and it's good until 9:00 a.m. PT on Tuesday. All I have to do now is find 2 games that I really want to buy lol ! I've downloaded a couple of demos so, hopefully, I won't be disappointed.

Hi, oldbroad and Marian!

I would never let a good sale go to waste, so I have downloaded 3 demos and should be able to choose 2 of them to buy wave2 !
