Upon first arriving at the Cistern I am unable to open the tank doors. I have tried moving at the most infinitesimal speed possible, rechecking the doors to still be blocked. I’ve reloaded the game to right before the fall and then trying again. Anything at all to think to try? Thank you in advance!

MeganElisabeth, I'm going to have Marian combine your post with our other Amnesia Rebirth thread. I will see if I have a game at that point I can load up. Are you playing in regular mode or adventure mode?

I don't have a save for right after I end up in the tank, but I found this in a text walkthrough.

I appreciate that so much. Unfortunately, I’m thinking it might be a bug or something… because I’ve tried at the smallest possible shifted incremental movement of the turret before trying the doors and they’re always still blocked. Even tried with mouse instead thinking it could’ve been the controller… absolutely hate skipping a chapter but looks like I have to try and find a save file to continue the game…

I don't think you turn the turret, but I can't remember for sure. Let me see if I can find a Youtube video for this part because the text walkthroughs don't help much. I do remember having a terrible time getting out of there until I figured it out, so I don't THINK you have a bug!

OK. Found one with this sequence. It's at 1:59 in the video. You have to put the bullets in the turret gun and grasp a small handle to move the turret slightly, drop a pin and then pull the trigger.

Great minds think alike; thanks very much for the video! Where I’m at starts right after shooting at about 2:00. I’ve watched a couple of youtube videos and have just again tried to match up the amount spun and match the sounds until that water is heard and still nothing… I have literally spent over an hour trying to turn to the right position at every little angle possible and the doors will not budge. If you can think of anything or have a save file anywhere even near the cistern I would so greatly appreciate it… shockingly only found one set of saves that weren’t near where I’m at… and I absolutely hate having to skip that much. Think I might try to reinstall as a last resort now too…

So you HAVE fired the turret gun in the tank then? Have you raised that pin on the left by the holes so you can move the turret all the way to the left? It won't budge until you do.

Yes, I have fired and am now stuck in the tank where it has fallen directly after firing. I am able to move the turret all around with the pin on the left freed.

And if you move it all the way to the left, the two little doors you turn to on the left don't open, right?

That’s correct.

Huh... you know I watched it again and they put the little pin down to turn the turret to the left. Do you get the action cursor on the little doors after you turn the turret? If so, I'm out of suggestions! Just follow that video to the nth degree!

All another one says is to keep turning the turret to the left until the doors can be opened.

Thank you SO much. Something you said made me think about precision of placement for the shooting. I went back and aimed slightly more exact on the door and I am now officially out of the tank after opening the doors! The way they have the tank fall seems to be off and entirely blocked if not aimed at the door in the right spots! I’m going to take your help as a good sign as to where I’ll be moving soon based on what I believe your location said earlier. Thank you again so very much!

Oh, my goodness! What great news! I would not have thought a perfect aim at the door would have affected where it fell to that degree. Well, onward and have fun!

Me either, quite unbelievable to me it worked… haven’t really seen that pickiness to affect actually moving forward in a game like this. Upon trying to find a solution I’ve read people having the cistern containing glitches making the chapter impossible to finish so I’m hopeful it’s such not the case for me! Thank you again SO much, truly cannot thank you enough!

Yeah, this is why we like to keep questions like this in the same thread. That way someone else might find them of use down the road. I didn't have any problems with glitches in the cistern, so hope you are also so lucky! Watch out for those monsters!
