I will however have some American beer (Pabst Blue Ribbon was available in the state controlled liquor store) and tell friends we're celebrating Independene Day.

I'm pleased to say the friends also brought American beer, possibly because I reminded them in advance. A surprisingly tasty beverage called Brooklyn Lager. Anyway the day was fine. Some sunshine between the rain. No grilling though, and snacks were of local production.
