A puzzle with homophones (words that sound the same but are spelled differently ) as answers, taken from the letters in the title of the quiz.

-1. "Are you familiar with your times tables?" asked the teacher, afraid the child would answer with the opposite of yes. 4,2 letters

-2. Two definitions this time. The yellow part of an egg and a wooden pole which fitted on the milkmaid's shoulders. 4,4

-3. "Do I use needle and thread when I plant my seeds?" said the seamstress to the farmer. 3,3

-4. This star shines all day onto my male child. 3,3

-5. The long distance runner did not lose the race and so became this number. 3,3

-6. Did the angel Gabriel utter this word before coming down from on high? 2,3

7. "Which person will chop down the tree " said the soldier to the lumberjack. 3,3
First letters are w and h

-8. "It will take sixty minutes to ensure the necklace belongs to you and me" said my sister. 4,3

-9. "Can I have some water to douse this stone before I sharpen your knife?" asked the tinker. 3,4

-10. The first word describes a nautical mile and the second is a negative word used, for example, in "Ripley's Believe It Or ...". 4,3

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.
