Thanks Rusty! Ingie: I know how you feel. I just love entering new areas. And I don't enjoy being unable to survive them and having to put them on hold. I feel like I left something hanging. That's the way I felt when I couldn't continue with Gharik's Forge. I just wanted to finish it before starting the next quest. Every so often I go back and try again, but I'm just not able to get past some nasty magicians. I also dislike it when the game puts the monsters in a position where I just can't get the advantage. I travelled by coach to Darkmoor, and the moment I'm out the door they're all over me. So I had to travel the long way around to sneak up on them.

Hi y'all, I agree, although I love the roaming about and pokey my nose in places..I am totally confusing myself.I have to go back and figure out what I was to do in the first little area, well actually I think that Castle town. I like my characters, so I'll just stick with them..should be easy pickings I hope. I cannot imagine not playing this game and am so greatful to the person that gave us that link to download. I am having more fun than I've had in a while. Oh Syd, thank you, please that black werewolf in the blue vest..he was so rude-dapper looking though. btw: thanks Rusty for cleaning the board  yesterday, I was paying attention to the # of posts, glad you caught it. The one town, I think Free Haven..has the gargolyes..I was dead from just looking at them, yep going back to where we belong and do those chores. Did y'all take the prince and lose him yet?? Apparently we're suppose to and then find him at the circus..I haven't found the circus yet.. Ingie <img border="0" alt="[grinch]" title="" src="graemlins/grinch.gif" />

From the huge SG I got the other day, for reason this is important, so I guess I'll have to go get the imp and let him run away..just to find him and bring him home again. BTW: I noticed by Town Portal gal has other spells listed at different times, like Lloyd's Beacon I think it's called...what is that?? And if use other spells with her, can you still use the town portal on the same day? Guess I could save, cast and figure it out..always looking for the easy way out.. Ingie

Hi all,
Wow Ingie you are finding all kinds of stuff that I didn't know were possible in this game.
I never bothered with looking under rocks and you say you found stuff that way. Hmmmm.
I never noticed that the Town Portal person has more than one spell listed either...wow. Whenever I clicked on her it was always just the Town Portal option. Hmmm. Interesting.

that's just too rich Syd.. It has only been one rock so far, on the beaches somewhere around New Soap..It looked like and said rock, one of my folks clicked on it..boom, it's trapped and inside were some goodies. Look at the very top of your town portal gal's conversation, that's where I am finding other spells. I guess she levels and can do more as you level. Found out that beacon light spell, puts a temporary transport back to that spot. So if in battle and need to heal in hurry, cast it..use town portal, and get out, then you get to go back to that spot..now in honesty I haven't tried that, I'm only semi quoting from what I read about that spell. Too funny, Syd! This game does that to you! Ingie, I've never seen a gate master have both spells - but that's wonderful. Are you sure she has it, and is not just telling you about the spell? Lloyd's Beacon lets you come back to the exact place you left, but it only lasts for a certain amount of time. It is really a great spell to have for the werewolf lair, since they respawn immediately. I've only found the one rock like that - but it does make you check all the rocks, probably a little developer humor!

How many of these dang werewolves are there???? I swear (quite frequently I might add ) there must be hundreds of them. Ingie I hope you appreciate what I'm doing for you Geez never mind - I just re-read some of the first thread and clicked on Schwab's picture - I'm doomed because I'm just about at the lair - this is not good

Next question - how do you work the Lord Beacon spell? My sorcerer is a master of water and I can get the two areas to appear ie: the temple in blackshire and the werewolf lair but can't get my group to move anywhere when I cast it. At master level it's supposed to last a week (at least that's what the info says when I right click). What's the trick to this sucker? And I am really tired of the Werewolf Lair - can't get them all killed before the whole lot of them comes back again arrrggghhhhh Okay scratch the how do you work Lord Beacon's spell question - figured it out - finally looked to the right of the book and saw the two arrows -one for set / one for recall

Syd, the werewolf lair is that wonderful rare dungeon where enemies will respawn if you keep running back and forth, so when you get near the big room (you'll know when you get there), set a Lloyd's Beacon there and use that to get back to town to heal up or sell stuff. That way you shouldn't trigger or run into respawned wolfies.

Hi Pib - so glad to see you Well the werewolf lair is history - sorta - I finished off the leader and got the pearl - took it back to the ghost. I still have a couple more werewolves to kill but I'm not sure I'm going to bother unless there's some really, really, really good stuff in there. And in the real world - I got all my Christmas shopping done (hadn't even started until today), grocery shopping is done, got the tree and it's up minus the ornaments because my kittens have decided it's fun to take a flying leap, land on the tree and see how many shiny hangy thingies they can knock off - they think it's a lot more fun than I do

Sounds like fun and work combined..good then I can skip the dapper werewolves..
we have one cat, that like to climb the tree...to sleep..full speed ahead, blast the ornaments and tinsel and lights...nothing quite so strange as waking up to an empty tree with a cat snoozing...
Have fun Syd, you deserve it after your full day

Wow, I actually have the save games from the first install. Would you believe 1999? It was much easier to install then and finding the patch was a no brainer as well. Now to try M&M VII... Saved games dated 2000-2001. (Long term fan of the M&M series. Even had a certificate from winning M&M 1...way back in the beginning of time.

I've been trading for these gems for a while now, at Nickie's suggeston, praying that one day I would be able to play them..thought I'd have to find an older computer.. So, are you joining us with VI or moving right into VII?? Ingie

Ingie I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the Wolf Lair is a quest - matter of fact there's three or four involved with that joint if I'm not mistaken. The entire town turns into werewolves during a full moon if you don't destroy the altar. Anyone know what happens if you land in Blackshire during a full moon and happen to kill one of the townspeople before you're aware what is going on? When they become human again do they attack you on sight? Oh and Lord Beacon's spell - it's a lifesaver - and worth the gold I forked out to get it
