Hi, I moved your post over to Glitches and the technical support forum.

I think your best bet for finding an old Windows 98 computer system is eBay, as lots of people are selling older computers there.

There really isn't any reason that I can think of why a lot of your Windows 98 games would not run on Windows XP. Almost all of my Windows 98 games ran on my Windows XP computer, so I am not sure why you are having so many issues with this.

Let's see what others have to say about this, too.

I second Marian's suggestion for looking at eBay for an old Windows 98 system. The chances of someone here having one to sell are pretty slim. I'm also wondering why your older games won't run on XP. Compatibility mode usually takes care of it. I can't remember if we had an old thread here or if maybe it was Inferno who used to have a place with tips and tweaks to run old games in XP???

Maybe it's just some certain games? I'll see if I can find that old information.

Inferno did indeed have a lot of info on her site about running games in Windows XP; the link is still in her profile, but unfortunately I tried it and the link no longer works. One might still be able to find it through the Wayback Machine.

Like Draclvr and Marian said you can get an old Win 98 machine on Ebay, you could also just buy the Win 98 software from Ebay and have it installed on your XP machine. And if you are lucky and have a Win 98 Software laying around in your house, you can have it installed on your XP machine, therefore having a Dual Boot where you can choose to Boot to either
Win 98 or XP, I did this for a buddy of mine a long time ago and it worked perfectly, but do not ask how I did it,, like I said, It was a Long time ago.
Good luck

I had that arrangement (before I eventually "seperated" the two systems and put them on their own machines) and they both worked perfectly on the one machine - as a Dual Boot.

But I still have my XP machine up and running NOW and a lot of my Win98 games just play on it, without any tweaking required at ALL ....

I also have my old Sony Vaio Computer that runs on Windows XP and I play old games on it...some using compatible mode for windows 95, etc. It can no longer go on the internet, but it works great for my old games using the old discs!
