Happy Monday, everyone.
It actually rained for a good two hours yesterday, which cooled everything down nicely. Then we had a lovely evening and it was so nice Dude declined to come in when I called him, approaching the door and then scampering away, tail in the air. He was in his usual spot on the lounger this morning. I'm getting used to such furry rebellions and don't worry about him so much.
Not much going on here otherwise.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Monday night! I'm about to wander off to read for awhile. I took a day off and all I did was dig up three really big daylily plants that will be in the way when they come to do the demo for the hummingbird porch on Saturday.
Hubby picked a 5-gallon bucket of green beans today. Around here, a favorite meal this time of year is fresh green beans, new potatoes and ham hocks. He makes an especially spectacular version which we are having tomorrow. It isn't such a heavy meal for the Germans before they head back to Germany Wednesday. Bonus is another day off from cooking for me!! Woot!!

Good morning everyone; tomorrow we should see a break in the weather thank goodness. Sunday at 2 p.m. it reached 102 f with the humidex. We are not used to this kind of weather in central Alberta, I drank way too much icy cold ginger ale & didn't do any cooking, all hubby & I ate were deli meat sandwiches. Have a great day everyone & stay cool.

Good day/afternoon/evening everyone. Rainy over here. Temperature in the low 20ies. (Celsius). I missed the coffee and donuts today and now it's too late for coffee. Having some Caravan tea instead. Very smokey. Happy Tuesday GameBoomers

Good Tuesday evening! I missed the break room this morning too.. Too much going on with the last day for the Germans before they leave tomorrow. Judith, that kind of temperature is miserable even if you are used to it. Hope it breaks soon. It's been relatively decent here - hot but just normally hot.
The fresh green beans, potatoes and smoked ham hocks were excellent tonight. Guenter made what we call a "Guenter Salat" with tomatoes, onions, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and seasonings. And I didn't have to cook at all! Win Win!
Airport tomorrow and then it's relax time.

Good Morning Connie, soot, Fogfighter, judith, Draclvr, hagatha and everyone. It is so hot everywhere...hopefully there is some relief for us all soon. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready even some decaf for those who would like it...I'll keep a fresh pot of both on all day. Having mail delivery issue here...hard to believe stamps have gone up in price and mail delivery issues have increased too! Enjoy your day! Gerry

Good morning everyone. The coffee smells wonderful. Today pleasant 24 Celsius and cloudy. The mail situation is similar here. More expensive and some delivery issues. Though most of the time the mail is delivered eventually. No doubt the mail suffer from shrinking volumes. I do my part and mail greeting cards now and then. Happy Wednesday GameBoomers.

Good Wednesday morning!
I never, never put checks in the mail. Mail is stolen from our mailboxes out here in the country and fraud is much too easy if they get hold of one of my checks. Hubby still pays his through the mail, but did start having me pay his credit card bill on-line because his payments were not making it on time even when he sent them 2 weeks early. He drives in town and drops checks off directly at the Post Office. The current head of our US Mail is just horrible.
  AIRPORT TODAY!

Go to it and cook, oldbroad !! Yeah !!
I'm having a very simple meal myself, tonight :
Boiled new potatoes, garden peas and a couple of grilled prime lamb chops. Followed by newly picked strawberries and fresh double cream. 😁😁😁

Oh, my, Mad. That sounds wonderful! Cook away, oldbroad! I like to cook enough for leftovers so I don't have to cook again for a long time.

Good morning everyone. A few emergency rations of instant coffee and knäckebröd available in the break room while you wait for the real stuff. Over here pretty foggy outdoors. Warm and sunny weather expected later today. Happy Thursday GameBoomers!

We actually had a bit of rain today, not enough to do anything, but at least it cooled down a bit.
We're now on Stage 4 water restrictions which means hand-watering only, though we can use drip hoses too. I have two of them so that I can take turns watering each bed through the week. We are expecting rain for two or three days next week, and that will ease things a bit, but I can see that August and September are not going to be good months to go on holiday if I want my garden to survive!
I started paying my bills on line years ago when John and I were in Vancouver for three months following his spinal surgery. My hydro and vehicle insurance and internet/phone are on monthly autopay and I use e-transfers for everything else. The bills come via email every month. That way nothing gets forgotten. I love it.

Good Thursday morning! German's flight landed in Frankfurt at 8:20 am their time. They just missed their flight being diverted because of fossil fuel protesters who glued themselves to the airfield!
Gerry, I WISH I had a day off! The sweet corn is ready and we will be shucking corn, blanching and freezing it today. Last year we got 41 pints of frozen corn.
