Good morning everyone! Mr Snow ist still around despite the thaw. The ice is mostly molten away from the pavements but dangerously slippy spots remain. The coffee is great. I already feel more alert and all is well over here. I have a minor problem coding hexagons. They are not really necessary but the shape is cool. The bees approve. Happy Friday GameBoomers!

Good morning everyone. Enjoying a cup of WADDB with a bagel before I start my day. Main task today will be a grocery run. The Highland games should be fun Connie, we always enjoyed them. Have a great Friday everyone!

Good Friday morning! More sun and temps above freezing. There is actually mud in front of the chicken house door! Still have to navigate all snow and ice to get there though.
Got hubby his bacon, egg and cheese on toast breakfast and then set up on the ice machine for a couple of hours. Time for a couple cups of WADDB! There is another visit by the Home Health PT at 11:30 today. Everything is starting to work just a little bit better each day. Everyone who has had this surgery says he's doing really well for only being 4 days post-op.
Have a wonderful time, Connie! It sounds like a lot of fun!

My family on my father's side were Scottish/German, and the men all had kilts, to be worn at weddings and funerals and for Christmas.
My parents used to do Scottish Dancing in the living room when I was a kid.
Great news about your husband, Draclvr.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning folks! 5 Celsius and Mrs Sun is shining. I'm confident the hexagons will learn to behave, eventually. But not today. Take care and be safe today wherever you are Happy Saturday GameBoomers

Good Saturday morning! I just carried hubby's normal Saturday morning biscuits and gravy breakfast upstairs. Now it's time for me to sit down with a cup of WADDB before I have to navigate the ice out to the chicken house and barn.
Need to make a run in town to pick up another pain med - he's having a lot of breakthrough pain and they called in a prescription for him. But still considering he is only 5 days post-op, he's doing OK. And the big thing is that I'm holding up! At my age with my knee and back issues, I'm so thankful.
After a couple of sunny days above freezing, it's heading back down to single digits F tonight.

Good morning everyone. Delayed my walk with Max this morning waiting for the rain to stop and then we were off! Enjoying your WADDB Gerry before I start my weeekend chores and then some dungeons and dragons this afternoon. Everyone stay safe and warm these upcoming days when the temperature plummetes!

Good morning everyone.
We've been hit with cold weather, too. It's freezing outside and that looks to continue for at least a couple of days. I'll have to keep an eye on my pond.
On the plus side, the sky is clear and it's a good day for nice, brisk walk.

Seems I managed to successfully export the cold, albeit I probably overdid it. At least you got an opportunity to stay indoors and game on while enjoying the WADDB. I'll do the same over here while dabbling with the hexagons. Over here +5 Celsius and Mr Snow is rapidly retreating. Happy Sunday GameBoomers

Good morning everyone. Gerry I also got my walk in this morning while enjoying a balmy 51 degrees. Our temperature has been falling since midnight and we're headed to the 20s with snow possible on Tuesday. Enjoying your WADDB and getting ready to work on some projects. Stay warm and have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Good Sunday morning! Sunny and 5 degrees F here.
Oh, my, the ice. I knew it would happen and I finally went down. No harm done, but I then I had to crawl over to a spot with some grass sticking through so I could get up! I barely got water from the outside hydrant for the chickens and got them fed and back inside. My stepson was on his way out here, so he did what he could with an ice chipper and some salt, but it didn't help much. Later today my neighbor is coming over to scatter ashes to make a path over to the barn. I can describe this thick layer of ice, but words don't do it justice!
  Well, off I go again!
  Good times.

Good morning everyone.
For those you experiencing the extreme cold, be careful. The last thing any of us Boomers need is a bad fall.
It's pretty cold here, too, but once again it's a lovely clear day. I'm out for a walk this afternoon with a friend and then it's couch potato time again.

Yay! Finally Monday again! Extra luxurious rations with instant coffee and cruncy knäckebröd available in the break room for the celebrations. Outdoors freezing again but that's no big problem. Just use appropriate clothes and tread carefully. Happy new week GameBoomers

Good Morning Fogfighter, connie, soot, Draclvr, hagatha and everyone. Thanks for the rations Fogfighter! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready! Draclvr sorry to hear you fell...how are you feeling this morning? With the bitter cold it could be days before that ice melts. We got 5 inches of snow overnight...but it is the Arctic cold and wind that will make it dangerous to go out today thru Wednesday! I am cat sitting for a neighbor so I will venture out later this morning...walk a short distance down the street to check on the kitty. Hope you all stay safe today...warm and cozy in doors! Good morning Mad, Gerry, Fogfighter, Hagatha, Draclvr, Connie and everyone. Draclvr, imagine you're sore...take care when back outside working chores. Gerry the WADDB is wonderful. Had to bundle up this morning for my walk as it was 24 degrees with a feels like temp of 14 degrees...Max was loving it. Stay warm today everyone

Good Monday morning! It hit zero degrees F this morning and is all the way up to 4 now. Uffda! (Norwegian for Yikes!) I'm not sore at all from falling - I hit on my rump which has LOTS of padding! A friend fell 3 times trying to walk up his driveway. No chance of the ice going away for at least a week. And now we've got frost quakes! People have been hearing loud booms everywhere... We have a local amateur weather guy who is better than any of the media weather guys. Here is what he posted on his FB page. Crazy times… Anyone hear some loud booms this morning?!? No it’s not from the meteor shower and no it’s not from an earthquake but actually from a very rare phenomenon. The booms will often sound like something hit a building or possibly even exploded but that’s not at all the case. What is actually occurring is we are having FROST QUAKES!!!
I bet none of ya had that on your bingo card. It is extremely rare but it’s happening across many parts of our region at several different times especially around Franklin County and surrounding counties. Frost Quakes occur due to temperatures that plummet well below freezing causing the water in the ground turn to ice and rapidly expand. This causes stress to build up in the ground and when it becomes too great it gives way causing a very loud pop or rumble similar to an earthquake but poses no harm.
