dont have a doctor i registered with Northen Health so if i need a doctor its a trip to emergency long wait so i take a book with me . most of the time i just want to go home .

I was very lucky to keep my doctor when I moved from Campbell River to Nanoose. There are very few doctors taking on new patients on Vancouver Island, and in Nanaimo/Parksville/Qualicum there is only one drop-in clinic and it's always packed. At least we have one! The waits there can be very long, too. I had to go there two weeks ago for something urgent and I took a book. Fortunately the doctors there are excellent. We definitely need more family doctors here in BC.

Hi Dianne and and everyone I know your Plight because im sorta going through that also I have no doctor since November (he does not take my insurane anymore go to second doctor He decides to move UGH now im trying so hard to get a third doctor } BUT i cant because the second doctor did not send the 3rd doctor my records yet ... And in between all this Stroke, Pneumonia. and covid set in hospital was my doctors (any doctor ) home , as of right now im doing ok need my eye checked from stroke and blood - urine needs check up also .... im hanging in for a couple of months for the medical records to be transferred to new doctor ((deep Breath)) then ...Im switching Insurance and starting Fresh again Look for new doctor ....till then like i said im hanging on

Leena, that sounds awful. It's bad enough being ill, but then not having a doctor and having to wait for treatment is just too much. Hang in there.
