OK - I have an issue - I don't know if this is a bug or I need to post this in Hints -- The controls are fine -- I saw Clarissa enter the fireplace - I opened door to it with the piano notes - don't see a Lamp I need to follow her --Amadey keeps saying "It's too dark .....etc " I do not see the lamp where it should be..
Am I missing something? Does this belong in the HINTS section ?

Marian, I'm sorry to say that the Nancy Drew game is not quite agreeing with me. I used the walkthrough once already because I couldn't figure out the Origami puzzle. Now she is trying to teach me about the Tea Setting or something but I'm not getting any feedback and cannot back out of the puzzle. I had to just hit "load" a game to get out of it. It's getting frustrating already. Probably time to start Primordia which I haven't done yet because I'm afraid it's going to give me issues like the other Steam games did. Then I can be frustrated with two games again .

I finished Nancy Drew yesterday with a lot of walkthrough help. I just could not ever figure out what I was supposed to be doing. Unfortunately, it was not one of my preferred ND games, even though I liked the Japan part. I copied and pasted the one puzzle from MaG's walkthrough into my Paint program, enlarged it, and then kept hitting "save" to pause the game to look at it and figure out the *colorful* solution. I'm thinking that is the one you needed a save for, Marian? I am still enjoying my replay of Primordia though and while I have gotten stuck, I haven't had to resort to the walkthrough - yet . Still deciding if I will also start another adventure now or just wait until I finish Primordia. It may depend on how often I get stuck.

Yes, that balcony door lock puzzle is something that really frustrated me because it was timed. You approached it the right way. Maybe The Captive Curse will be more to your liking. Sounds like Primordia is going pretty well. That one is in my to-be-played pile.

I still intend to play Jack vs. Ripper at some point. Not sure how Sherlock is portrayed in this particular game but I loved the Complete Sherlock Holmes when I read the book. I haven't played The Inner World and I am pretty sure it is in my Big Fish Purchase History? Will have to check. Okay, I just checked - and I do have it. I will try to play it this year.

I played all the Sherlock Holmes games of that particular series and thought “Versus Jack the Ripper” to be one of the less enjoyable ones. My firm favourite is still “The Awakened” 👍 EDIT : And I remember getting really frustrated with “The Thirteenth Doll” but can’t remember why , now
