I started watching the mini-series called Sirens on Netflix. I finished the first 2 episodes and still not sure how I feel about it, but I'm invested enough to finish it. Anyone else watching? Sirens

The description didn't appeal to me, so I never tried watching it.
I'm watching The 100 which is a pretty standard fare space/earth story about the people who have been on the Ark in space for 97 years after the nuclear apocalypse and are trying to return to earth to see if it's survivable. They have become accustomed to radiation in space, so are able to withstand the remaining radiation on earth. They run into "grounders" who survived and also can withstand the radiation and people who locked themselves up in a fancy bunker and have no resistance to the radiation. Wars ensue.
Like I said, standard fare, but it's keeping me interested enough to deep watching it.

I'm enjoying Murderbot. Most entertaining.
Also watching The Handmaid's Tale. Quite sobering.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

The Murderbot books are slyly funny, too. The show does make the humans look a bit sillier than they are in the books, but it works well in this context. I absolutely LOVE the cheesy soaps he watches. They're very well done and so much fun people are apparently clamouring for a spinoff.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Draclvr, I watched The 100. The first few seasons are pretty good. I thought it lost its way a bit towards the end, but I certainly don't regret watching it. It was enjoyable.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I finished the Handmaid's Tale last night. What a great show. Excellent from start to finish. There will be a sequel, which I look forward to.
After all that grimness I think I might wander back to something old and familiar. Dexter, maybe? Or Lost? Maybe it's time to revisit Dark. I was thinking about Supernatural but 15 seasons is a lot of watching.

Watched The Penquin today. Colin Farrell was amazing.

We are re-watching Andor season one to prep our memories for watching season 2 next. I had forgotten how much I really enjoyed season 1.

flotsam,
I think it is one of the best shows I have ever watched, I put it up there with Game of Thrones, The Wire, Ozark, Ken Burns The Civil War, etc. They do a great job of making you care about all the characters.
It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

It certainly makes a difference when you care. I do like the Ken Burns docos I have seen. The one on the Vietnam War is exceptional, and his Baseball opus played to one of my sweet spots. The Civil War ine was indeed very good. I have never seen The Wire but have lots of good things about it. Perhaps I should seek it out.

Finally got to watch Nosferatu... I was able to watch the original several months ago and was amazed at how well it was done for being over 100 years old. The new one is also quite good and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Happened across one called Preacher last night. It takes awhile to wind itself up with all kinds of odd things going on across the world. The Irish vampire is my favorite character so far. After 2 episodes, I'm hooked!

Just started watching a very promising crime show on Netflix, Untamed, all the better for being set in spectacular Yosemite https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/untamed ... and flotsam The Wire is very well worth a look.

flotsam,
If you enjoyed Luther you will like The Wire. In fact I think you would enjoy The Wire no matter what. The story and acting are top notch.

I remember enjoying that movie quite a bit back then Lex. Good to know it still stands up. Just finished a very enjoyable 6 episode series called the Assassin with Keeley Hawes (which was my initial drawcard). Its stylishly preposterous fun, certainly not to be taken seriously, with entertainment being its raison d'etre. A good romp all round

I just finished Katla on Netflix, an Icelandic series. It's dark and billed as horror, but in the end quite a moving story. Worth watching.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

We like Keeley Hawes so will try the Assassin: my present diet is season 3 of Foundation And an old six episode ITV thriller newly arrived on Netflix, Loch Ness (previously called The Loch) which is quite good. We also like scandinoir, so will give Katia a try. Thanks for the tips.

Jut finished gobbling up seasons 1 and 2 of Foundation. It's fantastic! I'll wait until all season 3 episodes are available before I watch it.
I'm starting For All Mankind today.
Apple TV really does have some great shows..

Just started watching "The Lazarus Project" ... a British sci-fi TV series that follows a man who wakes up to find that time has inexplicably rewound six months and is recruited by a secret organization called the Lazarus Project who's mission is to prevent global catastrophes.

Also, Fallout Season 2 is set in New Vegas and features Mr. House, for those of you who've played the games. Looking forward to it.

We just finished the Netflix miniseries Hostage, a British political thriller and enjoyed it. Like any movie or TV series you must be willing to temporarily set aside your critical thinking and logic to accept the series fictional elements as what occured for the sake of enjoyment.

Am enjoying a lighter crime-caper series called The Residence, involving a death at a White House state dinner. Think Ms Marple meets Knives Out. Not my usual fare but a welcome interlude. That the state dinner was for the Australians just adds a little something

Currently enjoying the new series of Blue Lights, a first rate police thriller set in Northern Ireland: highly recommended! Luther was always good fun.

Watching the second season of Interview With the Vampire. I've read the book at least three times and followed with all the successive books in the Lestat/Louis story. Loving the series.

I've been watching Person of Interest because a friend of mine recommended it. I was just about to abandon it when it got interesting at the end of Season 2. The first two seasons should have been compressed into one season, I think. Too much filler. It could been a very tight show if they'd done 12 episodes instead of 22 per season.. Anyway, I'll watch for a bit longer, see how I feel.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I'm going to watch Witcher Season 4. I'll give Hemsworth a chance.
I thought Person of Interest could have been a very good show if the seasons had been 13 episodes each instead of 22.
Right now I'm rewatching The Sopranos. Best opening theme music ever! This time around I'm not rooting for any of them. It's funny how your perception changes over time. The first time I watched it I had sympathy for the characters. Now they all seem awful, even Adriana. Even the kids. Every last one of them is complicit.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Someone gave me dvd's of James Burke's Connections from the late 70's and it is fascinating. There was a computer game released in 1995 called James Burke's Connections. It had full motion video and was a really great game. I wish it could get a re-release. I have been watching the 1982 BBC version of The Woman in White, on Tubi. It has been good so far and faithful to the book by Wilkie Collins.

I'm currently re-watching the old TV cop series Castle. I'm about in the middle of season 3 of 8. It's available on Prime.
Uncle Reg have you seen the show Absentia staring Stana Katic from Castle? It is really good.
It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

Uncle Reg have you seen the show Absentia staring Stana Katic from Castle? It is really good. Had not heard of it. Sounds like it's right up my alley. Looks like it's on Prime too. I'll certainly check it out. Thanks, SQF.

Well, I just finished Witcher Season 4. I thought Hemsworth was just fine in the role, frankly, and in some ways he's more like Geralt in the books than Cavill was. There's such a huge cast at this point that he actually doesn't get a whole lot of screen time anyway. I'll watch Season 5 when it comes out.
Not sure what I'll watch next. I'll have to have look through my various lists.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good to hear your thoughts on Hemsworth, hagatha. Witcher Season 4 is next on my list.
Right now I'm watching The Beast in Me with Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys. It's really quite good.

I think The Beast in Me is definitely on my list.
By the third episode of Witcher I was used to Hemsworth. The biggest difference to me is that he doesn't have Cavill's chiselled face, square jaw and growly voice, but he does have the athletic grace and size. He's a softer, kinder Geralt and they set that up at the end of the third season.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Just finished up Witcher. I got used to Hemsworth, but he just doesn't quite cut it for me. I think if they got rid of those two ANNOYING strands of hair carefully drawn down from his temples and always dangling in his face it would help!
Am several episodes into the new season of Anne Rice's The Mayfair Witches.
