Each of the words in 1-13 have had a word removed from them. The definitions of the removed words are in a-m. Find the removed words and then place them in the blank spaces to recreate the original 13-letter words. The words will fill in the ‘-‘ without changing the order of the letters. Example : Fa-h-o-mo-g-- with a. transgressor = sinner, answer = Fashionmonger.
-1. s--ct--onio-- -2. -re-k--r-ugh- -3. -u--d-an--ips -4. --r-es-on-iv- -5. e--g--mma-iz- -6. --progr--h--s -7. --con-t--ci-s -8. --m--sh--sses -9. -ish-r-o-iz-- -10. con-e---nti-- -11. --h-denf--u-e -12. --l-ifil-me-- -13. fra-me-t--i--
-a. triteness -b. gaudy, flashy -c. wolfish -d. produced by genetic alteration -e. twisted -f. enmity -g. dead body -h. tattle -i. absurd -j. frightened -k. harvester -l. cursed -m. plagiarist, infringer
The man who invented the Ferris wheel never met the man who invented the merry-go-round. They traveled in different circles.

To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self. I wonder what's on television...?

Both correct! There's only one left. Schadenfreude: the emotional experience of pleasure in response to another's misfortune. Schadenfreude is a German word that combines Schaden, which means “damage,” and Freude, which means “joy.” The concept is common to people across cultures, but some languages do have comparable words.
The man who invented the Ferris wheel never met the man who invented the merry-go-round. They traveled in different circles.
