I thoroughly recommend "The Unseen Fears : Outlive" and "Vermillion Watch : Fleshbound".

Very satisfying experiences - which I enjoyed immensely - in both cases thumbsup

And I am adding "Camelot : Wrath of the Green Knight". [I played the CE.]
A super game which I will undoubtedly play again at some time dance

The "Echoes" series varies in quality, but I agree they are good, overall. My two favorites are Citadels of Time and Revenge of the Witch. They both are "bog world" games, satisfyingly long, puzzle-heavy, engrossing, with no "action" or timed scenes. I have replayed both and know I will again.

I found "Dark Mysteries : The Soul Keeper" [CE] to be a really enjoyable experience. Quite a long game and with a good storyline grin

There were quite a lot of hidden object scenes but the graphics were good throughout and the hidden objects themselves not brain punishingly difficult to find wink

I recommend this game thumbsup

I am playing a game right now that has turned out to be quite the sleeper. The title is The Emerald Maiden: Symphony of Dreams. I am playing the Collector's Edition and am finding it thoroughly enjoyable. It has an interesting story, just the right amount of hidden object scenes for a HOPA (and they don't give you eyestrain), easy to middling puzzles that are fun and not frustrating, and overall it's just very well done. I haven't played the bonus yet so can't comment on that, but even if the bonus game stunk I already feel like it was a very good purchase for the price. The developer is Gogii Games - I always liked games with their name on them and am so glad that I finally got around to playing this. Great game. It makes me wonder how many more game gems are in my Purchase History just waiting to be discovered. yes

Edit: I have now finished the entire game including the bonus and this one is definitely among my favorites now. Overall, a really fun game!

Sounds good Marian and I have that one in my library. I'll have to bump it in somewhere.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking for a game just like that when I need to relieve stress. Will look it up! And I agree about Gogii Games. I always enjoy their products.

That's true! I have a boatload of BF games and decided I would go through all of them and play all of the series' that I have. My favorite by far has always been the Ravenhearst series, but I have just started with the Amarantine Voyage series and am in the second game.

I too enjoyed both of these games a lot. ERS/AMAX at its best.

I just finished for the second time Mystery of the Ancients: Curse of the Black Water CE.

I remembered this game as being very good and I was definitely not mistaken.

It is a nice long game and the bonus game has a very good length and is equally terrific, something that I would not have wanted to miss out on. The graphics are good, the hidden objects are good, the storyline is interesting, the puzzles are nice, and I had fun with this game from start to finish.

This is honestly one of the best HOPAs I have ever played. I really miss the developer, Mariaglorum.

I will be playing this again after some months have elapsed, for sure.

Thanks for this recommendation, Marian! I am going to try to move this series into my rotation. In the past several weeks or so I've already added about 5 now. It's no wonder I don't seem to be getting anywhere. wink

Hi! I'm Tim. I used to run the casual games thread on Adventure Gamers. I was asked at one point to name my Top 20 games. It's too bad that I don't have access to that message anymore. (People are working on recreating the AG Forums, so there is hope.) I was able to put together a list of 18 games, of which only 10 I'm sure were on the original list. Also bear in mind that these games are older games since my interest in the quality of casual games being produced started to wane about seven years ago, if not longer than that.

So I thought I would ask if I would be stepping on anyone's toes if I were to post the list here, on what seems like the logical place to do so. FWIW, I will not be offended if I'm told that it would be a bad idea.

I'd be interested in seeing the list and this seems like a good place to me to post it, but maybe Marian or Ana should answer you.

This once was my list of 20 Favorite Casual Games. Unfortunately the list was erased when the AG forums were erased. I can be sure that 10 of the 18 games listed were definitely on the original list. Which ones? You decide. Two are trilogies that I recommend playing as one. I recommend the CE version of a few. They're noted below. One game may not fit your definition of a Casual Game, but Dave Gilbert defined it as such when he joined us for a playthough, so who am I to argue. One game may be the earliest of any game on the list. The mechanics are quite simple, but it contains adult themes never before seen in a casual game. (Or since, for that matter. Think child kidnapping, rape, wrongful execution.) And one game, as noted below, is no longer available.

Drawn trilogy
Enigmatis trilogy (E3 CE)
Angelica Weaver - Catch Me When You Can
Phantasmat (original game by Codeminion)
Fright CE
Final Cut - Death on the Silver Screen CE
Beyond Light Advent
Lost Lands - Four Horsemen
Off the Record - Italian Affair
Dire Grove
Emerald City Confidential
Surface: The Noise She Couldn't Make
Azada in Libro
Shiver: Vanishing Hitch Hicker
F.A.C.E.S.
Echoes of Sorrow
Emerald Maiden - Symphony of Dreams
EPIC: Wishmaster (currently unavailable from any site I trust)

They toll for thee.

Tim, I have every game you listed with the exception of EPIC: Wishmaster (by the time I had gotten interested in it, it had been removed from websites, unfortunately). Some of my favorite games are included on your list, and there are even a couple I still haven't played: Off the Record: Italian Affair and Echoes of Sorrow. Good stuff! smile
