Draclvr, I'm sorry to hear about Bella. Losing our furry friends is so hard. It's been a four-coffee morning. I got up this morning after a sleepless night to discover that my computer keyboard has failed. After 2 hours on the phone and remote access with Dell, I'm sending my laptop off for a new keyboard. They will also try to fix the issue with the never-ending, repeatedly-failing Windows update that has been going on for two months. We're getting some nice rain today, reducing our fire risk. There gave been a couple of small fires locally started by people who don't think the current fire ban applies to them. It's a worry here as there's only one road out of the area.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Draclvr, Judity, Hagatha, Fogfighter, Mad, Marian, BET, OldBroad and all who follow. Enjoying a cup of wide awake double dark brew and bagel before I figure out my task schedule today. It was 76 degrees with 95% humidity and a 75 degree dew point this morning so we pushed our way through the thick air to get our walk in. Take care and have a wonderful day

Good Thursday morning. Getting a late start today. WADDB is needed to wake me up as I slept much too late!
Since we had the little thunderstorm I am able to get into the tomatoes and peppers and get them weeded. Working on that a little bit each day. A very nice week ahead with temps staying in the low 90's. I'll take it!
Our humidity was like breathing underwater yesterday too, soot!

Good Morning connie, soot, Draclvr and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready to start the day. Hope you are doing okay Draclvr...I'm sure you are missing dear Bella. The weather here is oppressive...humidity and dew point are extremely high...there is so much moisture in the air my weather station thought it was raining...very tropical air! Hope you all get some relief from the heat and storms today! Gerry

TGIF good morning Gerry, Draclvr, Connie and all who get the chance to pop in for a marvelous cup of wide awake double dark brew and treats. Grocery shopping and projects are on my schedule today. This morning's walk was quite nice. We might get some rain this afternoon and that'll be nice but it doesn't look promising. Have a great Friday everyone

Good Friday morning. A toasty hot day ahead - much too hot to work outside. But floors need mopping and vacuuming. Although I snagged Miss M the other night and had hubby hold her down while I pulled about a bushel of fur off with the Furminator, she still drops tumbleweeds of fur everywhere. And she's not even a long-haired cat!
Gerry, I imagine it will be quite a while before I stop checking the time to see if it's time for Bella's dinner or looking to see if she's still in the living room before I go to bed. I dropped off all her left-over dog food off at the local Humane Society yesterday.
It's spring. My life is weeds.

Good Saturday morning. Hubby's big breakfast served and now it's time to enjoy a cup of WADDB.
It might be in the mid-80's today which would let me get a little more work done outside. I still have to put the puzzle back together of a natural stone walkway. The rocks are REALLY heavy and I wasn't supposed to do any heavy lifting for 2 weeks after my eyelid surgery. It was too hot out there anyway!
Doing the night closing at the horse rescue for 3 nights. There's almost always an adventure! Last night as I was getting my buckets of chopped alfalfa ready for a couple of old horses, in the middle aisle of the big barn was Wilbur the pot-bellied pig and a stinky little black and white friend. The little skunk ran off, but Wilbur followed me around hoping for something yummy to fall. I put him in one of the empty stalls sans his black and white friend with a pan of water and left a note for the employees this morning!
It's spring. My life is weeds.

Good morning everyone.
Not much going on here. I'm getting ready for my Toronto trip next week. I'm only taking a carry-on bag this time so space is at a premium and I'm fighting the urge to over-pack. Fortunately, my pleated dress literally gets twisted into a pretzel for packing. That actually makes the pleats tighter.
Have a great weekend!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Ooo... what are you going to cook, oldbroad? I need some ideas. Hubby wanted a pork roast with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. I browned the roast with seasonings and put in the big crock pot with some onions and a quart jar of sauerkraut. I'll let that carry on for about 4 hours on high.
What day do you leave, hagatha?

I looked it up and that sounds wonderful... but without the egg. I added the recipe I found at All Recipes to my recipe box.

I think the broccoli slaw sounds like a better option taste-wise too. I'm OK with spinach, but prefer something like the broccoli slaw. And like you say, it's more versatile. Let me know how it turns out!
