Nice for you to have been able to attend the wedding, hagatha, but " I plan on doing nothing for a week" would be exactly MY plan, too, after that journey .

Good Friday morning. Hagatha, that made me feel exhausted just reading about your adventures! Definitely take the week off!
I made smashburgers last night and a Greek style salad using up more cucumbers and a bunch of my little orange tomatoes. Thought I was going to melt out there picking them! My goodness, it's hot here. Heading for close to 100 degrees F again today.
Everyone was in the pool until about 11 last night! I just sat at the table and drank a glass of wine. I had my super nice outdoor speaker out there and the girls had their Spotify accounts connected and they were playing lots of really neat music. The best part was the lightning show about 100 miles to the north of us. Perfect way to end a miserably hot day!
It's spring. My life is weeds.

Good afternoon everyone! Welcome back, hagatha! How are your kitties? We had a pretty big storm yesterday with some very loud thunder, but thankfully not damaging (in our area). Our lights flickered but stayed on, again, in our area. Some areas had trees and power lines down, one of which caused an explosion of a gas station in a near-ish by suburb. Possibly more storms to come today. I hope you each enjoy your Friday.

Oldbroad the kitties were well cared for. Willow is an easy cat, affectionate and friendly. Dude is a challenge with strangers. He sonetimes refuses to come in if it's not me at the door. He stayed out twice while I was gone.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

My semi-indoor cat Miss M has moved out to the barn with all the uproar here this week! I think she is mostly weirded out by Sasha. She is bigger than the Chihuahua though!

Good Morning Fogfighter, connie, Mad, Draclvr, oldbroad, hagatha, soot and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready. I'll be watching The Tour De France this morning on NBC. I enjoy the race every year. The scenery is beautiful thru the mountains, and quaint villages with spectacular ancient churches, castles, chateaus, and lovely countryside. Connie thanks for the ideas for cooking in the crock pot. Hagatha I bet Dude and Willow were happy to see you come home! Draclvr glad you took some time for you to relax with a glass of wine! Have a great day everyone! Gerry

Good Sunday afternoon. Hoo boy! The kids went a-winery-ing yesterday! This part of Missouri is well known for our wine - it's being recognized all over the world. So, they went to 4 different wineries and just had a blast. Elsa is still just 19, so she was the designated driver! They wanted lasagna for supper. I just did more marinated cucumbers, tomatoes and onions and some garlic bread. The lasagna was epic - mine aren't always! But this one was really excellent. Wish I could post a picture of it before we all demolished it. They were all out in the pool until almost midnight again. Lots of late sleepers this morning!
I just put two strawberry rhubarb pies in the oven. My DIL just loves them. I've been using a pie crust recipe that cuts up the cold butter and flour in the food processor - makes it really easy. Still need to put a hash brown casserole in the oven out in the garage and then I'm done. I did some baked beans in the crock pot and a cole slaw yesterday. Hubby is in charge of the steaks!
It's spring. My life is weeds.

Good morning all, and good luck with the new computer Ff - exciting and daunting in equal meassure as no doubt it will want you to do things differently...! Here is a cute tale which came our way First, a story. Once upon a time an ex-zookeeper named Kathy worked at an elementary school, Glover Elementary in Milton, Massachusetts. And there happened to be a courtyard there, encircled by the brick walls of the school, so the only in or out, other than flying, were the doors into the building. And the mother duck decided that was the perfect place to build her nest. No dogs, cats, raccoons or any other predators could get to her eggs, and later hatchlings. But when they hatched, they couldn't get to the nearby creek. They were much too young to fly. Good thing that Kathy was on hand! She worked and worked with the staff, and the students and the mother duck and came up with a plan! In fact it worked for several broods of ducklings over the years. Enjoy the YouTube video. Personally I think the most difficult task was teaching the students to sit (reasonably) still while observing. You'll see.... https://youtu.be/6uOziaGZeCU?si=3HYnKKbme6k1gugH
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

Good Morning Fogfighter, Lex, connie, Draclvr, SpaceQ, and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready! Good Luck setting up your new computer Fogfighter! Lex I love the video...it is an amazing wonderful story! Thanks for sharing! I'm sending the link to friends and family to enjoy too. Draclvr you must be exhausted...all that cooking and food prep and clean up too! My favorite pie is strawberry rhubarb! I'd love to sample your homemade pie! I never could make a good crust so I sometimes make just the filling and bake it in a casserole dish. I serve it warm over ice cream with a dollop of whip cream on top...less fating without the crust! Have a great Monday everyone! Gerry
